...park up outside London and get the tube in?

We're off to see Hairspray and rather than fight the traffic in central London we figured we'd park up somewhere and tube it in. We'll be coming in the from the west (M3) so somewhere that side ideally.

Cheers!

Whereabouts in town? The Shaftesbury in Bloomsbury, as I recall? It might be just as easy to drive to Surbiton (Zone 6) and get a BR train to Waterloo, and tube it from there (Tottenham Court Road, Northern Line is probably closest). Plenty of sidestreet free parking within a few minutes' walk of Surbiton station.

When I go to London I park in a residential street in Wandsworth (off Garratt Lane) near the train station. It has no restriction on the weekend and a 5min train to Waterloo. Or if on a Sunday I park on a road behind the Premier Inn Putney Bridge, has restrictions all other days. It's a 10second walk to the underground.

i usually park up where i used to live in ealing common between the two parks there. free parking and 2 min walk to tube - zone 3/15 mins central

Surbiton sounds like a winner to me
