I'm leaving for a week in Devon this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew of any good locations to get some good pictures?

I'm pretty new to photography so I'm looking to take pictures of anything and everything, just if there were any good events, or scenery or literally anything!?

I'll be around the Biddeford if that helps,

Thanks!

Exmoor, the North Devon Coast, or if you're happy to do a few miles, Dartmoor and the South coast.

Lynton, Lynmouth, Taw Torridge Estuary, Crow Point, Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay. Morte Point, Baggy Point, Westward Ho!, Hartland Point, Braunton Burrows.

I plan on visiting Clovelly (an old fishing village to the west of Bideford) when I'm next down that way.

Otter sanctuary & Buttefly farm at Buckfastleigh

^^ Thanks Les, I'll be sure to plot this into the schedule :) whether the pictures turn out to be any good is another matter, but I'll have fun trying!

Thanks for the list, I'm going to look into these now, I had heard Lynton and Lynmouth were nice.

Thanks, just looked on the Clovelly website, it's definitely worth a visit, and is right near where I'm staying!

Exmoor wildlife park, wild cats, birds, meerkats etc.
Exmoor National Park has buzzards regularly swirling around and often landing, there are also Exmoor Ponies - around Dunkery Beacon is a good area to visit.
Exmoor Falconry Centre near Porlock.
West Somerset Railway (steam) from Minehead, Watchet, Blue Anchor etc.
Porlock Weir - boats, cottages & foreshore.
Broomhill Sculpture Park, north of Barnstaple.

Bit of a thread revival here!

We ended up staying on a lovely farm near the hamlet/village of Buckland Brewer, it was called Great Eckworthy, spent a lot of time just enjoying the grounds.

We went to Westward Ho! and Bideford to watch some of the Atlantic Games, Clovelly, Darlington/Dartington, Woolacome bay, Ilfracome, and quite a few other places I can't remember off of the top of my head,

but the best place had to be Lundy Island, it felt like I'd stepped onto a scene from Lost or something, I can't honestly put it into words. From your location I'm guessing you've probably heard of / been there?

I've lived in Bideford/westward ho for... nearly 20 years now, and I've still not been to Lundy.
Great Eckworthy is lovely.

I hope you kept one arm slung over your camera bag in Ilfracombe?

I'd recommend it! Just check the sea before you travel, we went on quite a rough day and to say I felt seasick is an understatement!

and I didn't, we wern't there for a massively long time, that's where the boat for Lundy was from. In that case next time I go I'll catch a boat from Clovelly! You had bad experiences there?
