Where to sell an Aga

You don't get much off-topic then this but there seems to be a wealth of knowledge on this site about all sorts of things.

I have just bought a house with an Aga in the kitchen. It is a reconditioned oil one and was bought by the previous owner a couple of years ago. We are redesigning the kitchen and do not need it.

Has anybody got any idea where the best place to sell it would be?
 
iron mongers? the local paper might also sbuy them, or even look for a specialist?

just a small fee per year i think,then after a short while any one can reply to adverts. I have sold loads of stuff. including cars/ caravan.

A specialist will probably only be interested in selling new aga's. How about one of those reclamation dealers, maybe one who specialises in fireplaces? Not sure how you track them down although i have seen a couple trading within "antique areas".

Can't you keep it? AGA food tastes better than 'normal' food. I've had a couple of AGAs in my time, and I miss having one: I'd have one now like a shot if possible.

Two things: don't move it without taking it apart and if you do move it, make sure it stays dry otherwise it will be scrap.

I belong to a hifi forum, where there are plenty of people with vast areas of knowledge and some with money - tell me more and I can always ask over there..
 
there are several specialists who deal in used AGA/Rayburn etc. Have a look in the small ads in those lifestyle property magazines - they all advertise in those.

I would also look on ebay to see what they go for - The problem is that moving them is a *big* job. They need to be taken apart and put back together properly.

Keep it! Keep it! Keep it! Older AGAs are brill (and they add value to your house too).

AGA food is the best in the world!
