Where to photograph the lancs at windermere??

Hi All

As i'm sure of you will be aware there Candian Lancaster is performing up and down the country with the BBMF's lanc on a 6 week long tour.

One of the flypasts planned is over windermere.
Can anyone give any advice where to get some height to get some shots from slightly above, ideally with a good view of them coming and going.

I have heard the west shore is the side to be on, but as windermere is quite a large place shall say i could do with a few specifics if anyone has any from when the air show used to happen.

I'd suggest mid-upper turret might be the best spot.

Well timings would be published in the bbmf weekly bulletin on Facebook, Twitter etc.
As for where i would assume the usual air show path down to the glebe.
Just trying to pick a spot at higher ground

I could always ask my brother in law who sent me this photo ten minutes ago!
The Canadian crew were in his pub tonight partaking of a liquid dinner.
I haven't asked him what they talked about yet but I'm sure he kept them entertained with his Para stories.

It is called Scale Ivy Intakes. A walk not a climb ;-)

Mitchell Knotts (almost directly opposite the ferry landing stage might work as well but I've never tried it. It's slightly lower but closer to parking.

Brant Fell can be good, though parking is almost non existent.

Ignore that I've just had a look, all on west shore.

Will pick one of those spots, will get there in the morning and scout around to see what's what. Don't want to be too far back but still want some height.

Brant Fell is east. Nicer background shooting from that side but you will be further from the aircraft and parking will be a nightmare.

Well ideally I would want a west shore so the sun is behind me.

I think an early start and a hood scout round is needed
