where to get a wedding dress?

Try local charity shops, they occasionally have them in.

To be honest some Bridal Shops sell off display / Wedding Fair dresses for naff all, I have seen £99 and pondered, came back and it had gone, it was a stunning dress aswell !

You could also try ebay, plenty of cheapies on there.

You'd have to shave your legs though.

:D

:p

Try asking a bridal shop to borrow one in return for credit if it is to be used in a magazine/newspaper/ brochure etc etc and goes to print. You might be surprised and it will not hurt to make a few phone calls.

M&S were advertising a £15 one a while back, don't know if they still do it though...

My wife has one in the wardrobe. It cost a fortune and she has only ever worn it once!

Ebay.

I know you said you tried it but having looked at 2nd hand shops and local newspapers, I still find hem the best option.
I got one of Ebay for a fiver last year but it was a bit 'dated'.
A mate however got a gorgeous one for a mere £20.

Recently seen a few bridal outlets on there that sell off dresses (tried on, modelled etc). Tend to go between £30-£70 You just need to trawl through the many ads and put the dresses on your 'watching' list.

Go on to a bridal forum and announce yourself as a photographer and ask the brides if one of them will donate their dress to you for free. As they will love their dress and think it is the best dress ever it'll be a pleasure for them to have you photograph it with no money exchanging hands.

<ducks>

sod it I'll just say, my mum runs a dress exchange in Bude so if you're in the vicinity and want a good dress (ball park a hundred quid) we have a few...

I've got no experience with this type of stuff yet:lol:but thats deffo cheap! Really a dress or just underwear for that price:naughty:

Find some one to marry isn't it the brides father that has to pay for the proceedings :) so you'll get a free dress :P

Just a hint... get your models dress size and measurements before you get a dress. Some wedding dresses aren't the same sizing as high street sizes, so you need the measurements too. A corset back is a good idea too - it gives a bit of leeway with sizes - especially around the tummy and bust, if like alot of women her bust is a different dress size to her waist. Honestly, wedding dress shopping can be a nightmare for sizing! Bear in mind that the dress also dictates what kind of shoes too, if the dress is long on the model, she may have no choice but to wear heels of whatever height.
