Hi,

I want to buy a shoulder bag to carry my main photography kit, on the streets and in situations where a backpack isn't appropriate or practical.
I own a Lowepro computrekker AW, which is a nice backpack, but it just doesn't fit formal clothes and it's not practical to change lenses all the time.

Lowepro has some nice and good shoulder bags, however I'm a little sick of conventional bags, all with the same look.
I would like to have something with a classic and timeless look, preferably made of dark brown or black leather.

I use to have a Leica bag, like this:

However I don't own a Leica system anymore and I need something able to carry:

5D Mark II
24mm f/1.4 L
35mm f/1.4 L
CZ Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 (very small)

Although I would prefer one made of leather, it's not exactly necessary. There are some other nice materials with a classic look.
I don't want to get one from outside the EU.

Any ideas where to get one? I need to offer a nice Christmas present to myself. :)

Something like this would be nice (some of them are too small and made for rangefinders):

have a look at the national geographic camera shoulder bags - they are pretty much what you are after.

Thanks, Steep. I really like the look and it's very cheap! The only problem is the size. 30x24x30 cm is not large enough for what I want. I wish they had other sizes in the same style.

It's 40W x 28H x 20D the smaller dimensions there are just for the included laptop sleeve/pouch thingy, might make a diference.

In fact, it does make a lot of difference! I was needing some sleep when I checked the dimensions.
Probably I'll end up buying it. Do you have one? Does it look exactly like in the picture? I'm asking because sometimes colours are completeley different and products aren't so well made. This happens with the OMP Nuvolari driving gloves, for example. I was really disappointed when I received a pair. Nothing to do with the official pictures.

Alex, at the moment I was looking at something with a more vintage look, however those seem to be of very high quality and they are tempting. The "Black Label Medium Photo Satchel" seems perfect to carry what I need. I'll take that option in account.

jimlizard, yes I do have one (I think). Mine is the same as the one Marcel has reviewed here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86050 I'm pretty certain it's the same bag but possibly the colour is different. If you're interested phone Joe at redsnapper and ask if it's the same as the SY618. Remember you get a discount if you tell him you're a TPF mamber too.

Taz, thank you for your offer.
At the moment I'm really considering the acquisition of a Billingham bag, however I still would like to see some pictures of the one you have for sale, if possible.

Ah, I forgot to ask about the dimensions. ;)

Have replied to your wanted ad - forgot where this one was.
The bag is about 320mm long by 150mm wide and 150mm deep. It has two detachable end pockets, two front pockets under the flap and a long zipped pocket at the back. There are three velcro'd dividers internally.
Pretty clean considering the colour - I haven't tried to clean it.
PM your e-mail addy for pics.
Ian

A Billingham Packington will swallow all the kit you've listed and more. I have one and carry my D700+27-70 with me +SB800, 50mm etc and still room.
