I am about to take the plunge and buy a Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC

Just wondered if there were any particular places folk on here go to buy stuff online.

The best price i can find is here:

Anyone ever heard of them? or used them?

Just wondered if it was worth paying the bit extra for peace of mind and customer service.

There are lots of reviews here on TP concerning that firm, well worth doing a wee search and reading some of them :eek:
 
Simply are a Hong Kong based company. Like all things in life you get what you pay for. Most of the cheap options will be grey imports and will have "difficult" warranty issues.
Think about second hand - you lose little money when you buy and sell and with this level of kit most owners are pretty responsible people. I'm just about to open 2 packages that I bought on ebay this week - hopefully no snags....:)
 
College Cameras have this at 347 incl free Holga uv filter. All their stock is UK spec with full warranties. I have personally used this company and have found them first class for service... Not many UK suppliers are keen on posting stuff to Euro destinations,but they are open for business.

College camera's looks good at the moment with its free filter @ 347.99
Warehouseexpress @ 336.99 but no filter

For VC equipped
Warehouse has it at 529.99
digitaldepot @ 405!

I'm not willing to go imported

If anyone can beat those prices shout up! :)

Bricks & mortar establishment selling proper UK-warrantied kit (and a 5 year warranty too!) Have dealt with them before and they are very good indeed. OK, so 10% more than the simplyelec price, but the fact that you get a great warranty and are buying from a UK supplier is easily worth that :thumbs:

Also, digitaldepot don't have any in stock at the moment.

Yeah Britsol Cameras are ok, I have bought stuff from them but you have no idea if its in stock without ringing them.
