Yes
I don't want to buy Gray market stuff but am looking for a decent price on a Canon 650d, Boxing Day specials might be the better option?

Any ideas?

Well, there are cheaper options. What about £458.99 + free delivery + £50 cashback. The magic place called DigitalRev. If it doesn't show you the price in £ just go to the basket and change your country of destination.

I guess referral links are not allowed, so just check out my profile, there are more about Canon 650D.
Cheers

Doubt if you will get cashback if bought from them.

This promotion is only available on purchases made on any of the
products listed in any colour (the “Promotional Products”) within the United
Kingdom (“UK”) & Republic of Ireland (“ROI”) from a UK or ROI retailer
between Thursday 18th October 2012 and Thursday 24th January 2013
inclusive (the “Promotional Period”). Promotional Products can be sold as a
camera body only or part of a lens kit or bundle

You obviously haven't read the recent thread about DigitalRev.

Welcome by the way!

I have looked at DigitalRev, there seems to be some bad comments about lack of after service, serial code issues, grey market goods and canon UK not wanting to repair goods bought out side of the UK, there are others that have left feed back on DigitalRev that has put me off.

i got mine from cameraworld- but it wasnt that cheap.... i paid £699, but now they're selling for £599 including kit lens/ £549 body only

I have had poor customer service from many Uk large retail outlets
if you google most large retailers you will find the same
I googled counterfeit canon cameras yesterday and was surprised by some of the things I read
There were quite a few complaints about UK stores supplying as new demo cameras and what appeared to be returned faulty cameras
was quite shocking

Now I've read a couple of them concerning DigitalRev and will quote one thing:
What is true is that people who has problems makes the loudest noise. Those who have no problem, well, they have no reasons to make noises or go online for a few days posting how great service they got.

Just because 1% of people got unlucky doesn't mean the service is bad.
I'm not trying to do any promotion, but numbers do ;P

do you work for digital rev by any chance
its how a company deals with a problem that is the issue with digital rev at the moment

I've just seen above that ones coming up at 1230 on Amazon's black Friday deals

Thanks everybody for the advice, it is only the camera body I need but I still think I will find a better deal straight after Christmas ( Boxing Day deal)

Hi Mark, it might be worth looking at Hdew Cameras for a 650D body. They currently have them at £465 with a 3 year warranty http://hdewcameras6-px.rtrk.co.uk/canon-eos-650d-digital-camera-body-996-p.asp I have bought a 5D2 and 24-105 L kit and a 5D3 body from Hdew and can highly recommend them. They are UK based and supply a receipt for proof of purchase. They use Canon authorised service centres for any warranty work and they go 'the extra mile' on service. They arranged a saturday RMSD at no extra cost to me (usually around an extra £15-20) as they knew I needed the camera for the sunday for a shoot.

I bought my wife a 650D from Panamoz along with a lot of other gear and I can recommend them very highly too. I know you said you didn't want 'gray market' gear but I'm currently in a warranty claim with them for a Sigma lens. I got an email advising me to send the lens to a London address, which I did a week ago, and got another email yesterday advising me they are sending a brand new lens out as soon as. Panamoz are currently selling the 650D with 18-55 IS lens for £446 http://panamoz.com/index.php/digita...s-650d-with-canon-ef-s-18-55mm-is-ii-kit.html but you can get a 5% discount for paying by bank transfer, and you could always sell the kit lens to make the body less than a £400 net spend.
