Yes
I would like to get an M6 and 35mm (ideally 1.4, but that might be pushing it too far). Where is best to pick these up? And what should I be expected to pay?

Your looking at 600/700 for an M6 in good nick i'm thinking, and around 1500/1700 for a Nice 35 Sumilux

If you want a 35 that performs really well but don't mind the size, Voigtlander make an excellent 35/1.2 that many say is on a par with the first version of the Lux ASPH (and very close to the £3000 second version). They also make a 35/1.4 which is pretty nice too. I got the second version of the 1.2 for £700, brilliant lens. The pre-ASPH Leica 35 is around £1200-1400, it's small but it suffers from coma wide open (aka the Leica 'glow' some people rave about). Best place to get one would be on the Leica user forum or Rangefinder forum.

You would be lucky to get an M6 in decent shape for anything less than £750-800 at present. The lux will be quite frankly a stupid price- £1500 at least I would think. Lens wise it may be worth considering either a summicron or the voigtlander or zeiss offerings. I would take the zeiss f2 if I didn't already have a v3 summicron.

Red dot cameras were great when I bought my M6, willing to answer any number of stupid questions and provide high res pics as I couldnt get to the store. When I get another (I'd love to say if but I know it's going to be when) I'll be going back to them

In addition to Red Dot, heard good things about Aperture UK, and also Peter Walnes and Peter Loy (I have purchased from the latter two - not Leica equipment but I still recommend). When it comes to this sort of equipment, paying a bit more for dealer warranty and expertise can pay off significantly better in the long run.

I go to Red Dot for Leica gear, bought a 50 Summilux ASPH and 50 Summicron from them plus other stuff. Ffordes have a good reputation as do places like Robert White etc. Classic camera have a good site too as do Aperture who have a high turnover of gear.

Real Cameras in Manchester have acres of Leicas both cameras and lenses, worth popping in as they are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I am in Cardiff, so not that near any of these places!

Is there anywhere in Bristol?

Ace cameras do used Leica, think it's not far from Bristol? Best bet is Red Dot though, never had a problem with their descriptions or photos and the prices are decent. I wouldn't worry too much about handling them in a store, the M6 will most probably outlast you or me.
