Yes
I deliberately seeded a new lawn this month for the "April showers" but where are they:shrug: hardly a drop have I seen since I scattered the seed 2 weeks ago, I have watered it every night but it does not have the same effect as a good spell of wet weather.

If we do not get rain soon I reckon this is going to be one of the driest April months for a good while!.

In the meantime, after a fortnight I am still looking for those green shoots of life.....as well as the green shoots of recovery:D

Hi and good morning. It's been a very dry first half of April, hasn't it? The only rain we've had came in the form of scattered thunderstorms.
Well, I do have some good news for all you lawn lovers, things are looking set to become wetter and unsettled as we head into the weekend.
However, this bit of more seasonal-type weather comes in the form of a slow-moving messy slack low pressure system (rather than a classic depression system sweeping eastwards over the UK). This makes it hard for me to predict where and how much rain is likely to form. But one thing for certain, we are going to lose this current spell of fine settled weather we've had in the past few days. It looks like any rain we get are most likely to be in the form of scattered heavy showery stuff, with a small risk of localised thunderstorms over Saturday.
There are early signs of a deeper low pressure system forming over the UK next week, that does mean more organised bands of rain sweeping across the UK along with strong winds.
I, too, am hoping for some rain as I've cut the lawn 3 days ago using my brand new petrol lawnmower and the lawn is already showing early signs of yellowing and all top soil being bone dry due to lack of rain.

damn, heres me still digging the thing up, i dont want rain:(

I dont want rain I want brown grass everywhere and the government talking about getting the stan pipes out.lol
