Yes
Ralph Macchio who played the lead role in The Karate Kid is now the same age that Pat Morota was when he played Mr Miyagi in the same film.

Well I'd say about 7 years disappeared in the making of Karate Kid - he was 23 playing a 16 year old?

Uh huh. Plenty of examples of this sort of thing!

We were in Edinburgh recently, and walked across the Meadows (a park) close to where my wife grew up. She stopped, and asked me "Do you remember when we used to walk across here, when we were 18?" I did, but I'm 60 now and it felt, just a bit, strange. Where have all the years gone?

I think I read somewhere a loooong time ago, that he has some kind of chromosomal abnormality which means he will always naturally appear far younger than his years.....Lucky b****r.

The other day our local radio station played the Adam and the ants song Antmusic. Released in 1981, 32 years ago. Jeez I was still a teenager then and knew everything.

I saw him on TV recently on one of those shows. Maybe How I met your mother, or something similar. Amazed at how old he's gotten. Also remember watching Karate Kid on TV when it first premiered on terrestrial TV.

I hate the way that, as you grow up, time appears to move faster. When I was a kid, a day in the summer hols lasted forever. School seemed like an eternity away. Now I can pass an entire day in bed having hardly done anything at all.

Edit: quick check. Ralph Macchio is 50 and Pat Morita was 52 at the time.

I was only just a teen in 1981 and I have since forgotten more than I knew then

Ralph will be 52 in November

And the award for this months most random post goes to......................... :D

Elisabeth Shue who played his girlfriend will be 50 in October. A lot of teenagers in films are played by older people. Michael J Fox was a 24yr old playing teenager Marty McFly in Back to the Future. He was 29 when playing the same teenager in number 3.

Has he been on the loo all this time? Or was he outside, warming the car up?

Possibly killing two birds with the same stone?

I was at high school then. At the time, any mention of the 1960s seemed like ages ago. Now the 1980s which were thirty years ago seem like it was a few months ago.

Steve.

I watched the Gary Lineker "Who do you think you are" on TV during the week.

He has aged, gone grey and at one point in the show he was playing football in a private school. He was definitely showing his age during that session.

I found myself being disparaging then it struck me how I was remembering his time at Spurs where, as a season ticket holder, I enjoyed watching him in his prime. At that point my own age hit me...... God how the years have flown by.
