I have started to shooting birds but am having some major problems;

My local parks just get too busy, and although they have every right to be there I find myself getting pretty miffed and wish everyone would b****r off! One park in particular has a really nice man-made shrubbed area thats full of blue tits, coal tits, robins and jays but is a nightmare to shoot in due to the frequency of people and trying to dodge piles of dog **** everywhere.

I'm unlucky enough to live in a terrace so have no garden to speak of and just wondered if anyone has any pointers they could give me to help me in my quest to find peace!

Bonus Question: If anyone in or around the Preston area knows of any good places for birds (other than Martin Mere), i'd be interested to hear from you!

thanks in advance

Paul

Put up a feeder in your back garden.

I tend to use my local wildlife reserve. Its got a decent feeding station for the smaller birds, and hides for waterfoul etc.

Pennington Flash - Leigh Lancs.

The feeding station there (The Bunting Hide) is the best place I have ever been for getting close to small birds (ooh errr missus)

Have you tried Fairhaven Lake. There's even an RSPB discovery center there

Do a Google search for stuff like RSPB, wildlife reserves in your area within striking distance. You'll be amazed what's available that you didn't know about. ;)

A bit further away, but not too far, is leighton moss. Although i don't shoot birds i've been there a few times, as my dad works for the RSPB up there and leads some of the tours for the groups that visit.

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. I've even stumbled across a few places using Google Earth!!!
