Yes
Camera gear that is?

My gear has long outgrown any of the bags I have, and I probably couldn't pick it up anyway. I do like to have the gear handy too so I tend to keep it to hand through the day. Problem is I tend to plonk one bit down wherever I am and pick up the next bit. I've just had it rather sarcastically pointed out to me that I don't actually have any gear in the bathroom at the moment!

I feel a shelf or a cupboard coming on, but what do you do?

mine lives in its bags if im not using it, it gets tidied away as well if i can remember (ie be arsed) to do it, otherwise i end up tripping over the tripod on the way to the loo in the middle of the night lol

hhmm... bodies and lenses - only two of each - spread over a couple of bags. I often use one of them as a hadbag, so I carry the camera round and purse and stuff at same time.

Table lights, cube, tripods, etc, all in a trug...one of those things tescos use to deliver shopping in. One day the driver asked if he could leave 7 of them with us temporarily as he had a problem with the stacking system in his van, so we agreed... that was about 6 months ago and he has never been back to get them - they are great for storage for books and stuff as well as camer gear

Camera attached to tripod with dust cover over it, stands on dining room table with it's various accoutrement's in a bag next to it, ready to nip into the garden when I've some spare time.

In the one massive bag i have to hold it all

Floor/cupboard waiting to fall on the floor.

Lenses in camera bag.
Camera with whatever lens attached usually left on one of 3 sofas .. ready for someone to sit on!
Lighting gear, all around my nails room, ready for someone to crash into/knock over.
Its not that Im lazy, Im really strapped for space ... honest I am!

Wherever it gets ditched when I come in, although I only have the one body so it just lives in the bag usually with the few lenses I've got.
In the ideal world, there'd be a shelf for it in the office, but the shelves got filled up a long time ago with other rubbish.

In bag on floor ready to grab at a seconds notice :)

All (nearly all) fits in my MiniTreker AW that's its permy home and goes just about everywhere with me

Mine also never leaves my side, its sat next to me now in the office :D

in a couple of bags, small shoulder bag to take the stuff I'll be using and eveything else into a big rucksack. Rucksack usually gets left in the spare bedroom and the other bag is usually in the car.

on my desk, on the floor, in the boot of the car, on the bed, in the bed, it gets kept where it lands lol..... i NEED a bag badly lol

  My family think I am wierd hardly ever going anywhere without THE bag. I am soooo glad I am no longer alone. For a woman that used to have a handbag fetish, the tamrac expedition3 and the totally unheard of but useful unomat backpack do NOT make the most glamourous of fashion accessories, but what else are you supposed to do when you want to take your camera everywhere with you? As far as I know, Chanel and Dior have not produced an appropriate means of carrying my purse, makeup, pen, sunglasses and camera with 2 lenses safely.

Forgive the quality, its taken using my old Canon P&S. Mine are kept in these 2 Ikea display cases, that why I can quickly find all the bits and bobs i need before setting off out, I used to keep the bits in my bags, on my desk and pretty much whereever I had used them last, which meant spending 30mins hunting whatever I needed down.

BTW, the Ikea display cases are currently £19/each at most Ikea stores, I paid £45/each a couple of years ago, they have built in top lights which make your gear all glow at night... :)

All my gear tends to live in my Tamrac rucksack with the exception of whichever body & lenses I have been using last - they live in my shoulder bag. The two bags keep getting moved from room to room everytime I have a tidy  At the moment, they're both sat in the computer room / study. My tripod lives in the car (otherwise I forget it!).
When I go to Canada, I'm hoping for a house with a basement so that I can have a dedicated camera area :D

My bodies and lenses all live in my Tamrac Expedition 5 rucksack bag in the cupboard under the stairs, along with my tripod, Beverley's tripod and all her camera gear! It's highly entertaining when we try and get the vacuum cleaner out lol

all my gear is currently stored across my lounge room, majority is on the lounge.

The two digitals live in a Tamrac Speedroller with the 12-24, 24-105, 50, 85 and 100mac. Also the 580ex and the 430ex live in there in their cases and all the cloths, leads, chargers, batteries, filters, portable storage and cards have nesting places in the window pockets. Actually its a very versatile bag and fits in the boot perfectly :)

The film camera and film, cleaning fluids, swabs and stuff that just accumulates live in the Nova 5 - both bags fit side by side under a bookshelf i modified ;)

The tripods live in their bags in front of the camera kit.

On a good day its tidy - on a bad day after shooting its like a scene from a horror movie

Dreeder has the title 'butterfingers' then stores all his equipment [ooeerrr] in a glass cabinet....

mini, I have trying to pursuade my wonderful otherhalf to sort out the spare bedroom of all the junk so I can have an office cum dedicate camera area in there...but hey ho, I live in hope! :(

Hehe.. we live in a 3 bed house (there are only the 2 of us) so Dave has a dediacted 'music room' for all his guitars, amps etc. The other spare room houses the computer, bookshelves, etc but my poor camera gear (and there's lots of it) just gets dumped around wherever there's space

The camera stays in my shoulder bag so it is already ready without having to mess about packing. It might have another lens in it depending on whether I have put it away after a trip out, though when my Domke insert arrives it will have some 'regulars'.

Because of its size the 70-200 goes on the side board in its case, while everything else goes in the Lidl photography backpack, which has never left the front door and is only used for storage. It sits on the floor along with my shoulder bag and tripod bag.

Also have some DIY work lamps I bought because of a home-made lightbox thread on another site, and these sit on top of a bookcase because I had no where else to put them.

Michael.

Pretty much everything goes in my Slingshot. Don't have that much equipment yet. Tripod has its own seperate bag and the very very cheap monopod I have bought slips down the side through a loop on the Slingshot to make for easy carrying whilst hiking on my holiday...... well that's the plan.
Don't want to take a tripod as it would be too bulky to carry.

Andrea

my studio lighting gear is kept in bags ontop of my wardrobe. My cameras and lenses and accesories are kept in two camera bags which sit on my bedroom floor along with my tripod.

Moving in september into a flat with my boyfriend and we are going to have a dedicated music/photography room.

some in the computer room, some at the office and some in the car..i think?

Damn - I hate Ikea, it seems to be frequented by people with beards sandals and 60s tank tops. Looking at those cases though, for that price - I can feel a visit coming on.

Perhaps If I go really early...

Hmmmm most of my stuff lives in the slingshot 300, depending on when it was last used then the bag sits down the side of the sofa and next to my laptop, battery chargers in slot under the coffe table tripods/monopod by the front door ready to pick up on the way out. Memory cards and batteries could be anywhere in the front room. Ikea cabinets looking promising.
