Yes
After a wholly unpleasant incident with a washing machine :gag: I need to get some more memory cards pronto. Where do you guys get your memory from? Preferrably Sandisk Extreme III cards (CF and SD).

Cheers,

JJ

Memory bits.

You didn't leave the cards in your trousers did you???

I use 7 day shop, but they are pretty slow,

I just received my Samsung 8 Gigger from 7dayshop and it only took three days  so I wouldn't say they were slow. Now memorybits are slow compared to 7day, took a week to get the last Integral card I ordered from them.

Do they still work after the unconventional formatting?

Yep - in the trouser pocket AGAIN!!! The wife says I can't blame her or I have to start doing my own washing :(

Actually, some do still work, just worried about reliability. I normally use 7 Day shop but they are a little slow under the circs - will check the rest out - ta!

Again!!!

You should try keeping the card in the camera, where you can find them lol

buy one NOW. :D

sandisk extreme 3 is discontinued, the cards you now want are either the sandisk ultra 8gb ones (£20 each, 30mbps) or extreme (£45 each, 60mbps).

I use Amazon for SanDisc Extreme 8GB 60Mb/s at £37.99 very fast delivery and card performance

Transend from MyMemory I think it was or Warehouse Express - loads of fake cards around (rebadged off brands that are B grade and slow)

From amazon, transcend 8gb class 10 SD - £7.40 each

ew transcend. sandisk 4 lyf.

seriously, sandisk is the way to go. £20 for 8gb is not expensive ...

Used Transcend in my D700 for over 2 years now, top quality!

Not sure where I got mine from, but if I ever find out I am sending it back, it's definately failing with age, despite quite limited use and actually has to be washed regularly, it gets so mucky sometimes, not to mention forever finding pictures in it I am sure I didn't put there .... :naughty:

my mum i hope.... as my dad has a terrible memory...

what were we talking about again?

ew transcend. sandisk 4 lyf.

seriously, sandisk is the way to go. £20 for 8gb is not expensive if you're a professional. :D

bought a stack of these 8gb at that price as I have used one for years without a hitch, totally comparable to my sandisk cards

I bet the whites look good on the photos you had on your cards..... or were the colours a bit washed out?

I usually use Amazon, Play or MyMemory.
Incidentally I have washed quite a few memory sticks (not memory cards) because I tend to leave them in the small sub pocket in my jeans.
I have yet to have a Sandisk break, but an OCZ stick I had 'only' managed to last for three washes before the data corrupted.

ive accidentally washed CF cards on 2 occasions now, when getting them out fo the washing machine rather than just let them dry out ive given them a blast with a hair dryer for a couple of minutes and each time they have been ok.........so far

picstop/amazon/mymemory

used them all. go with who has the best deals.

Just ordered some cards form mymemory, was a decent price and there was a voucher i found online plus i got 10% back from quidco as well, seemed a no brainer to me.

Got mine from Amazon. Was only going to get a 16gb Transcend CF due to lack of funds at the time but I traded in some Nectar points for Amazon vouchers and got a 32gb :)

sorry - what was the question again?

Hello have you tried memorycardzoo or mymemory

Sent from my iPhone using TP Forums

I got a great deal on a bunch of extreme 3's from play.com a while back, they certainly used to be able to compete with Amazon prices. Worth a nose?

Another vote for both 7dayshop and Amazon, no problems with either, although 7dayshop is usually slower to deliver. Not that it matters when they are doing offers though.

And I have also traded Nectar points for amazon vouchers which helps too !
