ive just started to get into photography and after chatting with a local photographer would love to get further does anyone have advice regarding cameras lighting models etc thanks for any help .

Its to much to explain on here. Go and get a book down the library would be my advice, then anything in the book that you're not understanding ask here.

Practice practice practice. You are not going to become the best photographer in the world over night, read books read on here, there is a section for every type of photography on here so you should always be able to find the answer you are looking for.

Play with the camera see what all the settings do,play with the settings and see what happens when you do something different.

Good luck

As you've asked for " .... advice regarding cameras ..." I'm guessing you do not have a camera now.

If so, what is your budget? What area of photography interests you? Have a look at the pros and cons compact cameras, bridge cameras, DSLRs, mirrorless cameras.

As others have said read a lot. There are tutorials on this site and many others, eg - http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/

What is it about your current camera that you either don't like or feel is restricting you in some way?

As mentioned more information would be useful.

I'd say you need to learn the basics first before you start worrying about models and studio lighting.

Once you understand what your camera is doing, and how you can control it... THEN start worrying about all of the above.
