Where do people get their memory from these days?
I'm after some ultra II, 2 * 1GB or 1 * 2GB (whatever is cheapest :p)... But I'm not sure where to look for it.
I'm not averse to getting it from Ebay, if it's likely to be genuine!

Cheers for any pointers :D

Fair enough, I didn't know they had branches here, too! :D

Still, I refuse to budge from this seat... So where do people get their memory online?

Excellent! Thanks :D
Good prices & reasonable delivery. They look kosher (not fake) - anyone here used them? :)

Dunno, can't remember........so prolly best you didn't shop there :D

(It sounded funny in my head 5 minutes ago :p)

I bought some from Digital Depot a couple of weeks ago when I got my D200, Kingston 2gb x100 speed and they were just over fifty quid I think. You won't need any faster than that.

I have used MYMEMORY.CO.UK and EBUYER.CO.UK before. Both are reasonable. EBAY is the other alternative but it can be hard to pick up a bargain and not be sniped at the last minute. I got a 1Gb 100x Elite Pro CF for £18 delivered and that was using Buy It Now.The username was Skilevi if you want to search.

Worst place has got to be the high street! It makes me cringe when you see someone in Jessops paying £50 for a 1Gb card cos the assistant tells them they need it and they don't know any better

Cheers

Alex

another place to keep in mind for future reference is www.picstop.co.uk there selling extreme 3 cards at the moment for £31.80 that includes p+p , i ordered a card from there a few months ago, placed the order monday morning and received the card tuesday morning, good service i reckon.

Try the above link, from another thread.

These places below, I've have had no probs with when ordering, its just a case of who's cheapest.

www.mymemory.co.uk

www.mx2.com

www.memoryforless.co.uk Free delivery I think.

And fellas!
Isn't it annoying when you see a thread title then go to dive in only to realise someone beat you to it?

I use mymemory.co.uk

MyMemory are excellent - I use their 133x cards for my speedway stuff and have never evenhad the camera slow down on me yet. Good prices too. A friend of mine will only use either Lexar or Sandisk cards but goes slightly green every time he hears how much cheaper my cards are....having said that, he relies on his pictures for his living so I can understand why he stays with the big names.

I ordered a sandisk extreme III 1gb card from mymemory

turned up 2 days later, perfect condition and a genuine card

Got 2 cards from Costco yesterday as per Ian's suggestion, just over £25 with VAT, but you need to find someone with a card to get in :)

I've used mymemory.co.uk for 2 of their 17.99 133x CF cards - about £21 after delivery each. They are excellent, perhaps not 133x but still pretty fast. I just bought a Kingston MicroSD from them as well.

I was born with mine! ;)

Hama do some memory cards, not as cheap as some of these places but still a reasonable price through the TP group buy

Just a heads up, I recently picked up a 512MB SD card from memoryforless - the site shows pictars of sandisk cards, but what I got was some random stuff that looks like the label has been printed at home (it's not eluding to be sandisk - it has some name I can't remember).

Won't be buying from them again.

Do you mean "Sundisk" or something like that?

That's just not cricket.

I've just had a look at the website, and you're right. Although they don't call them Sandisk, but "High Quality SD Memory Card - 512Mb.", they are using pictures of Sandisk cards.

I would personally say that in itself is misleading, and I'm sure Trading Standards would agree with me too.

Have you thought about contacting them to complain/refund? etc.

I can't be arsed, really - I just won't use them again, and neither do I recommend others do.

Fair enough mate. What is it they say. A customer who's had a bad experience is likely to tell 4 other people, yet someone who's pleased will tell 1.

Or something like that.

I've never used them before, but I do know now to keep them off my list for future purchases

I bought my SanDisk Extreme III 1gb CF from Amazon UK.
It was £22.49 inc P&P earlier today but shot up to £27 now.
Keep an eye on it as the prices change daily.
