I think apple will go quite well with marzipan. As an experiment, she picked up a couple of packs of the new apple flavoured ones. Make a nice change from the "normal" ones and might even have a bit of fruit in them too!
Lidl still don't have the stollen bites in. I had to get a box of "luxury stollen". Next year I'll get three bags as soon as they come in.

Yes.I keep thinking of your post and wishing I'd known that when I picked up the pack. If I'd been on my own I'd have picked up a few of them but my wife was with me and she would, likely, raise an eyebrow ....Like I said, they freeze (and defrost!) very well!!!
I think Storm Bram caused very heavy rain a day or so ago. Were you there then ?
After all we've said. (Andya700 ,included) when I opened my bag of Lidl/Favorina stollen bites and had one I binned the rest so I'm pleased I only bought one bag. Fortunately, when we were in Sainsburys , Helston yesterday, I took a chance and bought a box of their stollen bites.Wonderful..They're from their 'Taste The Difference" range. On the box. is written...." 9 Cranberry & Orange Stollen bites". They are just how I like stollen...moist, as it should be. I'll be buying these next year. We're going into Sainsburys again on Monday so maybe there will be a box or two left but I doubt it.Like I said, they freeze (and defrost!) very well!!!
