Wheel's magic chair

Im off out got a seminar today at the Warrington Peace Centre, for Families living with Trauma day. Back around 5pm tonight.

Erm Bed??? or on sofa

Sofa would be best :)

Just make it easier whilst setting everything up. Once I have a "dry assembly" done I can then take it apart again and I will know where everything has to be to make it all work correctly.

:thankyou: dangermouse

Our pleasure Julian.

P.S the software was sent to me by our own AndyFozzy, and seeing as I really didnt need it Andy should get the credit for that.............AndyFozzy:clap:

Right - CF card posted, and I threw in some sandisk CF card pouches [got too many of the damn things...]. Unfortunately, I underestimated hobbling time in my shiny new aircast :bang:, so I think I probably missed the noon post - failing that it should be with you on Tuesday Darren!

What've you done? Do we need to start another collection ?

What've you done? Do we need to start another collection ?

 No - mine is very minor - I broke my foot playing football with some friends from work [landed awkwardly on it, and broke my 5th metatarsal] so I've just escaped from 4 weeks in plaster, only to be told I've got another few weeks in a removable boot :bonk:

Ah well - at least now I can wash my foot and leg!

I have to say - this thread [and its predecessors] really helped put things in perspective - it was starting to get me down, but this brightened me right back up, and reminded me that actually, I do pretty well in life, so thanks Julian for being the inspiration for this all!

Another Rooney moment by the sounds of it, dont milk it too much like he did, and pack it in with the insprational stuff I am far from it.

Hope it gets better soon, Lovely aircast on in this weather, ewwwwwww

Am I correct in assumimg that all the money raised on this forum is being donated to one person?

Yes all the money raised on that THREAD (collection FOR Wheels), quite reasonably, is going to him! If there is anything left once we have sorted out the stuff for HIM then HE has said that he wants that to help someone else. MEMBERS have donated specifically to him. It would not even be lawful to give it to others or reasonable in any way.

Might be a little more accurate to say the monies raised in the Wheels threads, rather than the global 'this forum' though, will be directed to him... and as Darren suggests it should not be any other way... :D

:p

Well the goodies continue to flow,

Just had a PM from Zoidberg who has been kind enough to donate a second lens for Wheels. The lens is a Tamron 70-300 which also has a macro function. It will be ideal for a bit of close up photography or for doing some bird togging!

Thanks Zoidberg.

How I missed this I do not know :thankyou: Zoidberg

Do you mind spending less time on this forum Wheels - you've almost overtaken my post count and I've been here for ages! ;)

I can honestly say I have never been so hooked on a forum since my motorbike days came to a sudden end. I love the work people have put so much effort into their photos, and the help forums and the tutorials are excellent. I will stay off as soon as my chest catches fire which may be shortly lol

Oi - I said stop posting...

More seriously, glad you're enjoying it - I certainly do

I am not getting into the specifics yet but I am already working on my second victim who shall remain un-named at this time!

The money left over has been donated back from Julian to a fund (it is his money so he can do this) together with any parts that we don't require due to changes in design and free bits donated.

SO

At this moment in time we only need: Some parts of a 055 tripod which cost £18 direct from the Manfrotto importer, a super arm costing about £100, 3 M6 x 35mm bolts, a clamp that fits onto a light stand costing £10 and bits that we have already got and/or making/having made.

This second member will then end up with a "Wheels bracket" on their wheel chair.

We can then start looking at other members. I am doing this because I enjoy it, find it very rewarding, can help other people who are in a less fortunate position and because it is the right thing to do. Please don't spoil it for everyone dragging up arguments which are not necessary.

Anybody with any broken 055 tripods please get in touch as the whole "Wheels bracket" is now based around this tripod!

Why not start a thread of your own to moan about this between yourselves. This thread is about the chair not for anyone to dis the whole project.

Darren. I have got a spare D bracket at work (like the one Graham sent). Any use?

Also spare CF reader - pretty decent sandisk one - looks sexy in shiny black.

Thread cleaned for the second time :nono:

As Fabs has already said, this thread is not the place for discussing the merits of the charitable donations for Wheels.

Sorry - meant to say multiple card reader.

Is there a place where we can discuss it Paul?

Without post deletion.

If you really feel the need to do so publicly Ade, start another thread in OOF :(.

However, I think it might be better to take up any concerns you have in private with those responsible for organising this.
