Right after the collection thread was closed it has all been rather quiet regarding "Wheel's chariot of photography" and so I have opened this thread to bring everyone up to speed.

Adding stuff now......

IF anybody still want to donate cash then the paypal account is still open, anything else then please PM me.

Once again thanks everyone.

There are lots of things that have not yet arrived, parcel post for example takes up to 5 working days (1 week). You can see what has arrived and there will be more tomorrow.

I can see us having everything in by maybe tues/wed next week then a week to fabricate anything that needs making. The next weekend where I am available would be 19th June but I am seeing him tomorrow so will find out if that is ok with him.

I spoke to Rovers_Andy last night and again today about the actual camera mount. We were looking at my Manfrotto 055 and the top plate of that looks ideal as a base and would allow the camera to be moved up and down by 18 inches and STILL be rock solid.

Andy has donated his Manfrotto tripod to the cause so with the legs removed and a bracket made this should be absolutely ideal :)

Thanks for the update

EVERYONE who has organised, donated, offered words of encouragement etc. should give themselves a huge pat on the back!

It's been a colossal but extremely worthwhile task, helping a member who is not as fortunate as most of us on here.

Well done everybody!!! :clap::clap::clap::clap:

I'm going mad, I wrote you a PM then because I had answered one in last 60 seconds couldn't send it. Then I did something else and forgot to go back to it. I was saying how is 2-3pm for you?

Ok see you then :)

Helen is bringing her D300 & 18-200 so you can see what the zoom is like etc. I will take a lot of measurements and try attaching a few things. Not bringing any of the goodies yet as I will wait for them all to be here and tested etc and the rest to be finished......

Just had a look at their site and I'm tempted. I've done a quick quote to see how much it is to cover my cheapo gear upto £750 and PL cover and it's under £5/month. I am going to read their policy a bit more then might as well insure my stuff beause you just never know.

One good turn deserves another.........

Arrival from Bigbigblue

Hoya 72mm CPL
DVD - Using your Nikon D-SLR

I've seen the light (without reflections)

Well the goodies continue to flow,

Just had a PM from Zoidberg who has been kind enough to donate a second lens for Wheels. The lens is a Tamron 70-300 which also has a macro function. It will be ideal for a bit of close up photography or for doing some bird togging!

Thanks Zoidberg.
