What's your pancake?

That's an omelette. (y)

Nah!

Make 9" ish pancakes, lay a pancake half in and half out of a heated, smallish, cast iron dish.
Put in a serving of the sauce and fold over the other half of the pancake.
Sprinkle with grated cheese and place in the oven for a few minutes.

Tomorrow, when everyone else has used up all their eggs and flour in preparation for lent, we will be enjoying pancakes topped with milk jam (for me) (better known as Dulce du Leche).

I'm surprised how few votes there are for lemon and sugar. In the office it was all but one for that (bloody foreigners :p). I'm pleasantly surprised by the cosmopolitan outlook by most here.

And I'm disheartened the way the Continental life style is wrecking the Stiff upper lip resolve of the British, quite frankly :(
Another good reason for voting "out"

:D

ROFLMAO it's probably just as good as an argument as all the others for and against. I like it, let the pancake decide our future within Europe :)

Absolutely not!
If we stay in they'll make us call them crépes!!

Ordinarily would have been the classic lemon juice and sugar for me.

But as we're 'watching our calories', we had some rolled and covered in Bolognese.

It's working though, so I'm sticking with it.

Lemon & sugar every time. (y)

Trouble with pancakes, even with 2 pans on the go, you can't make em quick enough. :D

Sounds interesting. Must try that. Crepe Ragut :p

Tell me about it. I tried it once with three pans but that was too much hard work. My daughters were keeping up with me cooking with two pans. No time to rest.

I was talking about keeping up & making for myself! (sod everyone else  )

No-one has mentioned icecream with amaretto poured over...
or maybe blueberries reduced with some kirsch.

or advocaat.. :)

Marshmallow Fluff. I discovered that combination tonight. It's divine. A bit sticky trying to get it onto the pancake lol, but well worth it (y). Lemon & sugar, or maple syrup previously, but Fluff is the new fave.

6 year old Son requested Nutella. Work of satan imho though.

I had crepes years ago in the South of France and the woman was adding Cointreau to the mix. Oooooof they were lovely. I may buy a bottle of the stuff especially to give it a go. Now I'm wondering if Baileys would work (as i have some left over from Christmas )

It's a bit late now perhaps but adding a little Grolsch works well as well.

That's disgusting!
Just no!
Why not just pop some peanut butter and sardines on there as well and be done with it? :puke::puke::puke:
You forgot the anchovies :D

I prefer pancakes to start, and steak and eggs to finish my breakfast. Followed by a coffee and a snooze.
After all that you'll bloody well need one :p

Hmmm... Since today is when we'll be having pancakes, I reckon a splash of Amaretto or Tia Maria would be a tasty treat! I reckon a small shot in each ladle full as a tester, just in case we don't like it. Nah, sod it, 1/2 a bottle in place of the milk!
