Yes
been meaning to ask this question for ages.... :thinking:

I have so many hobbies its hard to think of them all but here's a couple for starters...

Stained Glass (copper foil technique)
Dressmaking....

now tell us yours??

I'm into computing, and I do a lot of walking... But the latter has sort of merged with photography:shrug:

Computers here to, got into photography to get myself outside a little more, get some sunlight and fresh air ;)

motorsports
mountain biking
shooting

All are fighting for an equal share of my time, as are a few other pass times which I can't call hobbies like

House hunting :eek:
dog parenting.........:eek:
net surfing
cash expenditure avoidence.....:eek:

oooh...computing eh....what does that mean? Surfing and being on here? Now we all do that lol

Always been a practical type. Business was hands on engineering with CNC metalworking. Now that is passed I've been doing a lot of DIY.

Redone the kitchen, built a nice shed from scratch, made a new patio area. Finishing off still to do with patio lighting etc. then start on the garage rebuild :)

The garage will be my hobby shop - woodworking machines and lots of sawdust when I finally get to do my other hobby of carpentry and woodturning.

I've always spent way to much time using and building computers (and the internet since '94) so no doubt that will continue too.

For my part the last few years it has been that way (and a few high speed downloads :) )

Before that I hardly used a web browser. Mixture of online games and IRC took up most of my computer time. Oh and a few very slow downloads ;)

my brother works with wood, his wife hates it cos he walks in and treads sawdust all through the house, he does soem wonderful stuff though, even made a dresser :)

In no particular order
Mountain biking
Watching motorsport but not F1
Console gaming (single player and on line)
Model kit construction
Reading when I get the time :lol: :lol:
I think that's it....

Oh yeah and taking a photo or two :lol: :lol: :lol:

Athletics, mainly distance running, but since a back injury I am unable to compete, but still like to spectate.

Hmmmm

Mountain Biking (when my back isnt stuffed)
Walking (See above)
Flying Helicopters (on holiday from this due to financial restrictions lol)

Try not to have much to do with computers hobby wise, just use em for email and web browsing, as i work with them all day and frankly i have had enough by the time i get home ! lol

I also love to cook and do designer knitting....I enjoy interior design and can't wait to get our own place to play with and make my own soft furnishings. I am pretty busy when I'm not on here, and when I am busy I still come on here cos I'm nosy too lol :lol: then I feel lazy, then I feel guilty then I can't sleep...so I go and look through my books and get some inspiration and then I take some photos... :gag:

Walking & nails ... and for the last few months I havent done much of either.
Nails used to be my business but Im winding it down, got my nail comps starting up again in Sept so should really get my creative head on.
Like to lose myself in the garden too but I kill more than I rear, lol!

I see quite a few of the guys are into mountainbiking, I have a friend going in for the TransWales, are any of you doing it?

I have no time for hobbies - too busy working :(

Motorsport is currently my only other hobby, which is lucky as motorsport photography is my main hobby, so it works out well.

I have been involved in several expensive hobbies in the last few years, Nitro RC, Minimoto, Computer gaming and Gottlieb Pinball Machine restoration...

In fact ive got 1 item from each hobby in the room im sat in now...:thinking: Maybe in still involved in all these hobbies to some degree. :bonk:

Well, this was my friends exact words in his last email ...

" The TransWales is about 50-60 miles each day with 2500M climbing each day. Then we
have timed race stages at each location before we put our tents up,
clean the bikes, stretch, wash, eat, sleep and repeat. Should be hell
but I'm sadistically looking forward to it"

... think I could manage eat & sleep bit! :lol:

Green;
Birding;
Snakes;
Cards;
Walking;
Toys;
Jilly;
Oh ... and Green ... :D

I play Rugby for my home town of Redditch, problem is they expect quite alot of commitment, training Tuesdays and Thursday playing Saturdays, and probably coaching kids on Sunday mornings this year as well. Which is fine but I'm worried I'm not gonna find time to learn photography which is something I have wanted to do for years, and finally got a camera this summer.

Painting(esp acrylics), sewing, knitting, interior design(studying it too), making anything, being generally creative, using my imagination.
listening to music, or going to live concerts :)
Cooking,(and eating it :D) Hanging out with my friends:)
Cycling, swimming, ice-skating (all seasonally) and walking.
But most of all spending time with my Fiancè Tony :love:

here is a shot I took in May this year of Barry in his lycra which he hadn't worn since 1992! He found it in the garage....it is still very stretchy :lol:

lycra_baz-copy.jpg

Kickboxing (the proper black eyes stuff not boxersize!)
Mountain biking (Just getting into this)

...off to start a MTB thread!!! yay! :D

Thx for the reminder. *adds Chickenlegs to Tesco shopping list*

:lol:

Erm.... ah yes.

Computer programming (games programming, specifically). Done loads of published Amiga stuff between 1991-1997, 10 published PC games since 2001. By 'published', I mean boxes on shelves in the likes of Electronics Boutique, Game, Toys R Us etc.

I'm writing a game just now which is tippety top secret (so nobody steals it). No publisher yet, but there will be. I've so far only allowed a handful of people access to it and everyone loves it. Have a good feeling bout this one...

Also play bass guitar although I'm a lil out of practice in recent months. I've played since 1990 and been in a couple of bands, the highlight of which was going on tour with my band supporting Mansun (Wide Open Space, Stripper Vicar etc) in 1998.

Um... what else. Oh yeah, I take the occasional photo when I'm out for a stroll.

Well, that's enough willy-waving for now. :D

The hardest form of programming if you ask me. People do not accept crashes or bugs in games that they'd put up with in application software.

So, :thumbs: that man! :)

Well of course Im suitably impressed by you having your work on the shop shelves in the gaming industry but, but, but ... you toured with Mansun :notworthy:

'La, la, la, Im in a wide open space, its freezing, you'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from meeeee, la, la, la...'

Sorry couldnt resist!

cycling was always my favourite although i don't seem to make much time for it these days,(tend to do more walking) probably only 30 miles a week now, i did cycle from john o groats to lands end many years ago and what a great experience that was, i will try a dig out a few of the old photos and post them.

Hmmm mine are Cross stitiching some of which I have done for presents, reading books, watching films, playing computer games, anything to do with disney, and now getting into photography.

well being a Geek obviously, winding people up has become something of a sport, and i very much like motorsport!

Besides photography, in no particular order:

Travel, music, astronomy, keeping goldfish, culture, languages, history, spirituality (don't confuse with religion), anything alternative, paranormal or out of the ordinary! The list goes on...

Eating, i like to do that as often as possible :)
Beer drinking second
and maybe the odd bit of techno stuff thrown in when i full or drunk :D
