No resolutions - they are usually doomed to failure anyway.

However, I would like to lose a few more stone (well, maybe just a couple!) and be in drug free control of my DM. I've already made a good start on taking more photos - I've taken more in the last 3 months than I have in the past 18! I reckon my GAS is pretty much under control - I don't need anything else or even particularly want anything more! Got a couple more homey projects to deal with - we've done the laminate flooring downstairs and have the carpet organised for the bathroom, stairs and landing, just the bedrooms to carpet after that and get a conservatory ordered and built. Got a few photography based projects to plan and complete but no rush over them. Once my wife's retired from her day job, we'll start making together plans for when she's not teaching or adminning her own business and those plans will hopefully include some long weekends away.

To all those making resolutions they actually plan to keep to, all the very best of luck.

Last year I made a resolution that the kids would be washing up from now on..... It lasted a week after having to re wash up all the time!........

Maybe try harder this year with the above!... :-D

That's how I get out of it ;)

I'm not gonna let people get to me this year. There are more important things to worry about than miserable people with their first world problems, and letting you down all the time. I am going to live for me my wife and my son, Not going to wait around for everyone else and their half assed promises, if there is any new years resolution its going to be that.

It's not traditional I know, but most resolutions usually mean you give something up or are expected to change something about your life. I have my vices like smoking and the odd take away too many, but they make me happy & I don't get to treat myself with many other luxuries or things that make me happy. So, If I am happy about who I am, why should I change any of it, or be expected to change to fit in with what society tells me is good?

I've set myself the challenge of cycling 100km by the end of the year....not cumulatively, btw! I went out for the first time in 2 months today - starting the new year as I mean to go on - and the amount if fitness and leg strength I've lost just in 2 months is shocking. I've already considered lowering my ambition to 75km :D

I have set a similar goal for myself. I am planning to take part in the London to Brighton bike ride in June. This gives me six months to get back the cycling fitness I had.

I've got a few:
Lose some more weight and get in better shape
Improve my photography and finish my 52
And start playing the trumpet again, it's just an expensive paperweight at the moment!

Well done on the weight loss so far!

One word - moderation! You don't have to clear all the plates on the table and/or leftovers in the pans - they can wait for another day (or a little snack later!) A MINI Mars a day won't hurt too much but a King Size will... Get smaller plates; sounds simplistic but a full 10" plate looks more satisfying than a less full 12", even if the amount on them is the same. Diet fizzy drinks don't taste as bad as they did a few years ago. Booze isn't good for weight loss; besides its own calorific value, it tends to encourage snacking, with nuts and crisps being the usual accompaniment.

I've managed to drop a bit over 4 stone since May - a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes was a wake up call! I even managed a few pounds over the xmas period.
