I have a Canon 40D and 70-200 F4L and 50mm F1.8. Both of these are great lenses. I also have a Kenko 1.4 TC.

I really don't want to spend a fortune on lenses, so am trying to firmly decide what else I need that would compliment my range of lenses.

So far I'm thinking either a Sigma 10-20mm for wide angle, and the Sigma 17-70mm as a walkaround.

What sub £300 lenses do you own and what's your fave?

50 1.8 MKII for me.

It's a tough one......

I have just got a Niffty Fifty (£50) & a Sigma 70-300 (£115).
Both are great IMO

I would suggest you went for the sigma 10-20 or the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, depending on what you need!

canon 50mm 1.8 its hardly come off since I got it!

canon 28-105 F3.5-4.5 You can pick them up for about £130-£150 and it's an amazingly sharp and useful range for the price.

I thought your favourite was the 50 1.8? You seem to have bought enough of them!

If this was a Nikon question, my answer would be the 18-70 (which oddly I've just upgraded from :bonk: ).

:)

I'd go with the Nikon equiv, the 28-105mm AF-D. It's served me well and the macro capability is enough to satisfy my minisule (geddit?) interest in the subject.

Sigma 24-70 f/2.8

Of my two budget (read: only) lenses, it's the Canon 55-250mm IS. It came with my 40D, but I think you can get it for £150.

:agree: .... and strangely I also plan on possibly upgrading it this year, but you see, the upgrade can't be classed as 'budget' being as it costs 5 times as much :bonk: :cuckoo:
