I'm the first to admit that I lack range....I like abstracts and have problems with too narrow depth of field on just about everything I do....

Just wondering what other people felt was their weakness?

Flash photography... just cant seem to do it :(

The ability to like my own work.. I dont have a portfolio because I cant even find ten pictures i think are good enough..

White Wine.

loose women.

going off the point...

i never think im good enough

i just cock up my photos in general

Intolerance - nowt wrong with that.

Spending to much cash on things that I don't make the effort to get out and use enough :bonk:

Who said I have faults?

Too many hobbies with a lot of money invested in them and not enough time for half of them.

I don't use my feet enough. Instead of taking time to walk around ensuring I get just the right angle, light etc. I tend to try to get as many decent shots as possible. When I do take time to use my feet I can often come up with a WOW shot.

I tend to turn things down quite often thinking Im not up to the job.

I'm the same but then I see the result of the job and know I could have done much better. grrrr must have self confidence :D

I either don't listen enough or forget the things I have listened to.

What was the question again?

Photographically my main fault is that I totally lack creativity. I started out doing football photos where you can get away with not being too creative, you just try and capture the moment that's being played out in front of you. I'm now trying to enter competitions at my local photographic society and I am doing a 52 thread on here and coming up with ideas is a struggle every time. However, the reason I'm doing these things is to boost my creativity. Hopefully I'll improve one day.

Jesus, this post hit a nerve!!!

I'd object on the principle that I meant from a photography/technical point of view, but this is just far too interesting. And fun.

68lbs ... you have a picture of marmite as an icon. Nuff said ;)

Hi
new boy but some empathy on reading the above posts!
My main faults? Breathing according to some! No seriously,I am Bill or Grizzley by the way and hello to everyone.
The post about no confidence really rang true.
But buying an A3 printer made me see some of my photos in a totally new light.
Hope this helps to get me into the swing of things here.
Many thanks- Grizzley

Only joking, LANDSCAPES, just cant do them.:(

Dean:)

Hey Will, welcome to the forums.

I have a tripod sitting under my desk and a flashgun I've used only on the kids. I really need to use both those more rather than staying in my comfort zone.

But my comfort zone is so ... comfortable.

I feel I'm plateau-ing quite badly at the moment.

I`m still learning the old photography so I have lots of faults in that department. :D

I lack confidence though...

:(

My bum!

I really want to get out and start taking my photography seriously again but my body doesn't always play ball :( Well actually to be honest I'm using the old excuse, I'm now on some drugs which help loads but I'm still lacking in the confidence to get out as much as I'd want. IBS if anyone is wondering

thats very true for a lot i expect. i spent some time doing PP on a york minster shot only for "her indoors" to point out the green scaffolding net i missed :bonk:

... From dust bunnies to floating camera straps, through forgotten high iso to blatant miss metering, thinking I'm in AF when I'm still on manual, let alone the terrible guess exposures..... are just some of my faves. :gag:

I used to be very indecisive :( but now I'm not so sure

I'm too modest :naughty:

Seriously, a lack of patience - I tend to see something and get so engrossed in my intial ideas I don'tstep back and consider other options. This in turn leads to a lack of creativeness compared to other people's photos in similar situations.

Need to learn basic PP skills too, might help cover up some of my other faults

Pressing the damn shutter too soon!

I always struggle with getting the right moment, do I shoot because what I see looks right or do I take more time, work on composition more and miss what could have been a good shot?

Arrrrghhh it drives me mad. I cock things up all the time, end up with misfocussed shots, mess up exposures and folders full of dross. I'm not getting the keepers I'd like to yet but at least I'm gaining in understanding as to why. Good grief but it's a long road sometimes.

Thankfully I'm not impatient :) Just intolerant of my own ignorance.

I have really shaky hands, even with image stabilization and VR my hands just shake all the time.

Oh and I hate my nose, my bum and my bad temper...

I have a problem with sensor dust. I may as well pour sand in there some days....at least I'm well practised for cleaning :D

My shyness! Particularly with the ladies!!!

For me.. ALL OF THE ABOVE!!! :'(

Im WAY too self critical, as said in an earlier post by Glo.. but i havent had the opportunity to turn anything down!!

I often dont know what PP'ing can MAKE the pictures i have..

I have a very bad memory!!

I have ZERO confidence in myself or abilities (Just saying that left an uneasy feeling!)

I put too much into friendships and wonder why others dont want to know.. (Back to the self confidence thing..)

Im too honest sometimes..

Thats enough to be getting on with.. If you want more self loathing then pm me..
