i have one but it's been posted a few times so lets just say its called

"splash-2" its in my gallery.

why do i think its my best todate...:naughty: its the subject and the timing of the shot... i know iancuk has the same shot ... but this is my best todate imo

md:thumbs:

My best shot changes all the time MD. Sometimes it's a landscape others it's a pic of my stepdaughter or one of the dogs or..........or...............or.

As I shoot more and more my photography evolves and thus my "best shot" changes constantly. :)

I tend to agree with Ali here
Here's one that I am quite fond of though
because? I just like it. It seems to capture the essence of the little sod

Mine is this shot. as at the time I posted I didn't think it worked that well or was missing something, but I got some really nice feedback :D so perhaps I'm getting better

My best shot is the three wheeled Lotus one.

For many reasons:

No on else got it
IT looks cool
It made me money
IT got me published twice
It also got me kinda well known. When people talkto me they say 'you took that lotus shot' etc which is cool.

i've got 2 fav's at the minute, each for their own reason's i think they speak for themselves ***:

It's getting spookily like AliB & I have a mental connection

I'd simply swap the words 'stepdaughter' for kids and 'the dogs' for others' kids

:D

I think this one is my best shot so far
I actually got what i wanted to which was a first, i know it's not perfect but it is one i am quite proud of;)

This is probably my best shot currently:

Why?

Well, it was my first photo of 2009, a year in which I vowed to take my photography more seriously. After 9 or 10 months without even picking up my camera I was very pleased with this result (and some others from this early morning January trip) and so for that reason it is currently my favourite.

Since then I have taken around 500 photos, of which I have processed around 25-30 (poor conversion I know :()

Bear in mind from June 2007 to December 2008 I only processed 52 images. I am very quickly increasing my portfolio, and with some different style of shots as well as I get more into flash photography.

Sorry for the long post.

I think this is my best shot so far. Not because it's one of the most popular I've taken but because I was quite proud that I decided not to stay with the protesters and move somewhere that'd get me some good photographic opportunities. I could see this guy was about to do something and he lept over the barrier. I was crushed against the barrier prior to leaping over to the police side and couldn't get my viewfinder anywhere near my eyes so I just shot this single frame from about waist height. I didn't know whether or not I'd caught the moment until I got home and was going through my images. (I've stopped chimping, works wonders for me).

I think I managed to capture a lot of emotion in this one image that probably summed up the demonstration for me. I don't know. Be interested to see what everyone else thinks.

I have a couple, even though i take loads of motorsport shots my two fav's are landscapes, one from Jesmond and the other from Newcastle Quayside

Right now my favourite is this:

Livi.jpg

As for why I like it so much:
1) it's my youngest daughter
2) i like the expression and composition
3) it looks awesome on a 4ft wide canvas!

Nice work Kayjay----rather you than me ! Maybe taking a 1/4th crop from the left would intensify the energy a tad.Great pic---it speaks for itself.:clap::clap:

Impossible to decide, it wasn't so long ago I'd jump to throw up my best shot, today I find I'ts taken me half an hour to find that I really can't decide. ... Blimey!

So after reading ScarySquirrels reasons for that beauty, I've chosen this one because it also marks a moment in my photography.

Never having tried a streaming light shot before, I went out that night with one vision in mind, I didn't know what the subject was going to be, but having read and studied I knew exactly what I needed to avoid to produce the sort of dreamy streaming light composition I wanted. I'd walked for hours and shot nowt when I spotted this view ... I knew I'd found 'it' ... I can't tell you how stupidly excited I was.

For me this shot signifies the realisation that a photo is made by my mind, the pressing of the shutter is simply a means to capture what I've constructed with my imagination.

The problem is … now find, after many more attempts with other locations I find cannot surpass this first shots comp. :gag:

some great images here, that image is great forbidden biker, seems everthing came together perfectly, were you standing at the side of the tracks?

I have a couple shots that i really like but dont think i have one that i class as my favourite yet, i will have a look when i get home.

Chris

Cheers Chris, DDp ... Yeah I had to position myself as close as possible to the track in order to fill that side of the frame with the moving carriages, and also to get the barrier near the central of the frame. Then it was repeated attempts at getting the timing right, so the train would start next to me, and finish right down the track 22 seconds later (it turned out)... I also didn't want any indicator lights or cars crossing from lane to lane (cos the road shape was already good) ... Took about an hour and twenty shots in all, luckily being London there where plenty of trains to use, so eventually I got exactly what I wanted.
Possibly more traffic may have improved it ... possibly not also I've pondered.

18mm iso200, 22seconds@ f22 ...I may have used a polorizer too, (to give more time) can't remeber if this shot is with or without soz.
Although its odd that I didn't have to look up the settings ...burnt in this one I reckon.

I think it would have to be this one, its prob not the best pic in tecnical terms but it bring back just how amazing it was to see this stunning raptor only about 20ft away from you

That's a pretty awesome looking bird. Nature is amazing. A split second later and you'd have had an entirely different shot.

This is Jaffa, my adult male leoaprd gecko.
I love this pic because it just sums up his cheeky character, and he's smiling in it x

Although my flickr page suggests this shot is much more popular.

Both shots were a case of right place at the right time, but I'm really pleased with how they came out

this shot was in the underground subway in paris next to the arc de triomphe

i like this shot because, it all happened in a matter of seconds, going down the escalators i saw her kneeling head bowed with a cup in front of her, it was very busy in the corridor and i just had to bring the camera up and shot, before i started to block the escalator, the light falls around her and the people walk around her not past her and are in darkness and blurred,

This one, because I like the leading lines (The railing leads you too the pier which leads you too the patch of blue sky) I was still pretty new to photography when I took this and was chuffed that what I thought translated into a good image. It was about a year ago now so lets hope I get something better this year!

Great shot of the Suspension Bridge in Bristol. Love the way it just fades into nothing.... Have always wanted to capture that on an Autumn's evening with the lights on. :)

Same here - I've had plenty of time to do so, but getting out in the cold has been offputting for just one shot :D

i think this is one of my best - down to location, the experience and my first sunset

That's Clevedon Pier isn't it? I'm in Portishead, pretty close.

Mine is either:

I don't know why I like them but I'm pretty pleased with both

It's probably this one, it was 1 chance, 1 shot deal. I didn't shoot in burst mode for this, was lucky too that her eyes were open and i caught it when her legs were at the highest.

my best shot is below

something just stands out about it even if luck was there more than skill

This is my best shoot, because I spent 30minutes to find the best place, 2 day to wait for the perfect light, and another fistful of hours to process it. (One of my rare pictures selected on the famous 1x site.)

It was taken at the medieval city of Carcasonnes (France) two years ago.
