Whats you favourite lens?

Sigma 17-50 F2.8, nice and sharp and my only decent lens!! (although a nifty appears christmas day so that's changing soon).

Nifty fifty, It's the only decent lens i own:'(

Mine is the Canon 300mm f2.8L IS.

Simply stunning detail, bokeh, sharpness and contrast/tones. Really really consider myself lucky to own one :)

Ditto!

Then my 70-200 f2.8 IS L Lens
Then my 24-70 f2.8 Lens

Carl.

I'd probably have to say the 50mm.... but I use my 24-70mm the most, so that would come in second place :)

another vote for 300 f2.8 is L, i just don't get out to use it enough.

Canon 35 1.4

Just seems to be the focal length for me at the moment.

I've had quite a few lenses, so a few favourites!

I'd probably say the Nikkor 70-200 VR, although I don't own it now, and have no intention of owning it again.

Now its a Nikkor 17-35 f/2.8 AF-S that gives me the warm fussies.

The one I'm using at the time to get the shot:)

For me, it would have to be two: -

Nikon 24-70/2.8 AF-S, a bit heavy, but a marvel to use ... today got it back from Nikon's service due to front focusing issue at 24mm.

Voigtlander 58/1.4; though manual focus, I just can't get enough of this lens.

Did they fix it? My brand new Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AF-S is front focusing.

Not sure if I can be bothered sending it it, might just get a refund.

Yes, it seems ok but I will do a more thorough test tomorrow. It took them a good 4 weeks (or has it been 5 weeks  .. I lost count).

I am really annoyed at how long it's taken them, I would have thought they'd give this matter a quicker turn-around; but at least I have it back ... love the versatility of this lens.

About your 50AF-S, sorry to hear about the front focus issue, but how serious is it?

24 - 105L. It's always on the camera and it's the last one I would want to have to part with. Excellent quality, light weight and has that extra reach that the 24 - 70 doesn't have (which is why I bought it).

Then it would have to be my Sigmas 70 - 200 f2.8. Excellent quality general perpose mid range telephoto...
but...
my 400mm f5.6 lens is such a fantastically sharp fast focusing lightweight lens it must come equal second.

Between 1 and 2 cm of FF,which for an f/1.4 lens close focused, its a mile off!

True, that is a huge issue; at 1.4 you really want it dead-right and spot-on 100% of the time otherwise what's the point!

I love my 85L, but currently looking for something wider, around 35mm - for full body shots.

Tough call but it's a toss up between my mp-e 65 and my Tokina 12-24.

My fifty 1.8. The only none L in a bag of four and easily gets as much use as the others.

I did buy an 85mm F1.8 based upon the amazing reviews and comments around the net. In the testing I did, it only outperformed my 50 at F1.8 and 2.0. Stopped down at 2.5 or lower, there was nothing in it, and I actually returned the 85mm for a refund.

Why anyone would own a Canon body WITHOUT a fifty, I've no idea.

too difficult to answer really but i have just bought a cream machine so perhaps i will have a new favourite after all :D
