I've upgraded the body and lenses this year.
Canon 40D
Canon 10-22
Tamron 18-270vc
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8vc

I can't choose one lens as a favourite as all three do what I want from them.
If I had to choose one it'd probably be the Tamron 17-50 due to the IQ of the pics I took of my dog @ f/2.8

Canon 50D
Canon 70-200 2.8 is
Canon 100-400 is
Canon 24-104 is
Canon 5d mkII
Canon 85 1.8
Canon 580EXII
Hilite background and train
Dlite 4 kit

Love the 5D with the 70-200 and 85 for portraits.

I upgraded all my gear this year, next years list will be much much shorter:'(

Definately my studio lights/kit, but my nikor 28mm is a close second....or maybe its the siggie 24-70  Oh, the Manfrotto CF tripod is pretty damn cool too, as it the monopod I won from Redsnapper last week. :bonk: maybe I just got too much stuff this year

My enlarger.

My 70-200 2.8 L. I haven't used it as much as I should have done though.

When I got my 400d a couple of years ago, I never thought I'd own a thousand pound lens.

I love my 40D and Sigma 10-20 too.

A mint condition s/h EOS-3 35mm body. Bulletproof build quality, handles like my digital camera can only dream of, works with most of the lenses that the EOS450D does, and going back to shoot film occasionally reminds me to slow down, think more, and press the shutter less.

Shooting digital has given me the chance to improve my photography on a technical level almost beyond measure, due to the almost instant feedback loop and ability to repeat and repeat until you do get things right.

Shooting film, however, slows me down, makes me think more about the composition and overall balance of the shot - at at least a tenner a roll for E6 every shutter press costs money, so you want plenty of "keepers".

35mm f2

Cheap as chips for a little prime and allows me to shoot the wider shots on a 2nd body at weddings. Stick it on the 5D and I can stick my arm in the air and shoot blind. :) Or I can stick it on a tripod and with a PW I can fire it remotely from the back of the venue. Just press the button at the time I want the shot. I can be in two places at one time ;)

5d Mk2, then a new computer system to keep up with the huge files and HD video. Oh, and a 24" Ultrasharp monitor.
Not sure what Santa's bringing, but I've left a few hints laying around. We'll see tomorrow.
