Whats wrong here?

Ive got some dredded unwanted items on some of my photo's (see below).

What I want to know is are they on the camera or lens and is it something I can sort myself or do I need to send them off.

Dust (or other grot) on your sensor, probably. You can clean it yourself - search on here for threads about sensor cleaning.

As Stewart says, its definitely sensor grot, lens grot generally doesnt show in pictures. Loads of topics here about DIY sensor cleaning, or most pro camera dealers will do it for a price for you.

Agree with sensor dirt the most likely, but would also check lens. Assuming its interchangeable, remove from camera body and look through it closely against the light: something might be there which you could clean off.

Agree this is definately dust.

I would guess for the dust to be quite as obvious this is shot at a very high aperture f22 ish, if so do you realise that you are degrading image quality through diffraction on a 10-12MP Crop SLR sensor anything over f11 will degrade the image?
