Spotted this whilst looking for images of the 60D battery grip:

It looks like a camcorder stuck on top of the camera. Is there any reason behind this?

Seen similar set ups at a few rallies gives the option to shoot both moving and take stills and to be able to get them "out" quickly.

Yer, but their not doin it prop-ly like are they? Where do you put the fill flash and separate mic with fluffy bunny!

Funny how "Still" cameras used to fit in a big coat pocket and "Movie" cameras were so big they sat on your shoulder. Seems more like the other way round now......
