Hey,

I'm thinking of going to the RHS Tatton Park Flower show this summer, it will be my first time going to any event like this so I was just wondering how I should approach it - what I will be allowed to take pictures of and what I won't be.

I've emailed the organisers with this query as I didn't find any information on this webpage, but it would be good to hear from members here who have gone to these types of shows as members of the public with an interest in photographing the event.

Thanks

Andrew H

When we went to the RHS show in Cardiff almost everyone had a camera of some sort! Didn't see anyone have any problems taking pics and there was some serious looking macro set ups there!

Just be careful not to creep up on them, and certainly don't go 'boo'. :)

Don't take a goat, they eat everything.

Don't walk round whistling Pete Seeger's Where Have All the Flowers Gone?

Don't pick them and re-arrange to make a nicer composition...?

Don't dance around proclaiming "I'm the prettiest flower of all". You're bound to get someone try and stop you. Just scream "Section 44 is illegal, I'm a photographer, I know my rights". They'll be so taken aback you can proceed to take one handed self portraits with one arm round a flower display like it's your best friend on a night out clubbing in Fuengirola having just spent a day on the pedalo's. Everyone will be so impressed with this new trendy style of photography everyone will start doing it, and by the end of the day it will be forever known as the Guybrush method. You might even get your own wikipedia page.

Wait... what was the question?
