whats the difference betwean depth of field and depth of focus

Anyone have a simple answer to the question above I would appreciate it.
 
would you be meaning plane of focus, otherwise i have no idea...
 
I think 'depth of field'/'depth of focus' is a foreshortening of an expression that goes something like:
'the depth of the field of acceptably sharp focus in front of and behind the actual plane of focus'.

Just different (shorter) ways of saying the same thing?:thinking:

Depth Of Focus is behind it.
