Hello guys!!

So i'm not a professional photographer, but i would like to know what's the best studio light and background kit for start a take a portrait, and make some money for in the future gonna be a professional.

Anyone can help me??!!

Good Morning. I was in exactly the same position as you, and 2 weeks ago received the Lencarta Smartflash200 starter kit and since then I can't stop taking portraits.
The Kit is well built, sturdy and not difficult to us. There is an excellent customer service backup via Gary Edwards who is THE MAN, and lots of tutorial videos available from their site.
Take a look at their products, there is also a huge amount of support and information available on this site as I've found and learned so much over the last few weeks
Good look

What's your budget ?

I'm also a Smartflash user and agree it's certainly a good starting point. Good quality for the price and plenty of accessories to add as your experience grows.

Can you send the link or the name of the kit?!

Tks

The link is www.lencarta.com - the tutorial section is particularly good, and their customer services is second to none.
£300 will buy you the smartflash200.
The kit is easily transportable, but you will probably want to use a plastic storage box for the heads, reflectors and cables.
good luck

Can you please explain in details the other things you bought alongside the SmartFlash200 as it will be very helpful for me too. You said £300 will buy the smartflash200 but it's only £106.99 on the website, did you have to buy any other accessories? Do you think the ElitePro 300 will do more justice?

Thanks.

I think Norm is referring to the twin-head starter kit for £319.99.

Personally, if I was you I would start with a single Smartflash and one of the Profold softboxes plus a reflector. Up to you which size depending on how much space you have.

You'll be surprised at the results you can achieve with just this set-up.

Once you get the hang of things add a second and third light if necessary

Hiya dejoe, Petemo is absoloutely right I bought the smartflash200 twin head kit and am chuffed to bits with it. I also bought the Lencarta wireless trigger kit which seems to work well.
I have today ordered a white umbrella, and a pair of the low head stands - ideal for lighting subjects that are sitting or kneeling low on the floor as the normal light stands are too high.
I think petemo's advise regarding a single head and soft box is right, Im always suprised just how much light these heads pump out and just how little of the available power is needed.

Thanks a bunch for the advice. One more concern:

I have made up my mind to buy one smartflash but please where do I get the softbox that fits the smartflash (can I just buy anyone on ebay)? I have got a canon 580Ex II speedlite and about to order YN-560Ex II as my slave flash. One thing I am not sure of is if I can use this combination of lighting; the smartflsh as a main light in addition to the two flash light. I have got a wireless trigger and should order 2 umbrellas + swivel + stand (white & reflective) soon for the two flashes. I am not so sure I am doing or about to do the right thing as far as lighting is concerned. I have only considerd the two flashes because sometimes, I will have to go to peoples' home for portraiture.

Please advice me. Thanks.
