What's the best photography lesson you have received?

To buy a sun sniper (or similar) sling to replace the canon strap. Of the ~8k I've spent on equipment over the past years this £60 accessory has brought more pleasure to my photography than any other- it's now so simple and comfortable to carry my camera round (even with a heavy body/lens) that it comes out with me far more often than it would in the past

This! I have just ordered an Op Techs over the shoulder sling, sick of carrying my camera around my neck!

I don't know about best lesson learnt but, I enjoy having a close mate who is in to photography and only been doing it slightly longer then me, so we keep each other on our toes and try to enjoy it together and if one gets annoyed, just help each other out etc etc. Nice to have someone there to keep you up the speed and give you a kick in the backside when getting lazy!

But I agree, check equipment before leaving, twice I've left memory cards at home lol
