right i am wanting a macro lens but i cant afford the ever increasing zuiko prices so im thinking of buying a cheaper OM macro lens,i have also been looking at the 50mm f1.8... is there any point buying an OM lens?or would you advise against the idea. any input welcome thanks all :)

You'll need to get the OM adapter to fit the old glass to a DSLR. Last time I looked, the adapter was about £150 but that may have come down now...:)

you can get the adapters quite cheap now i think

The third party ones on Ebay are getting cheap now, don't know about the official one I think it is still around the £100 mark. However, since you'll be using manual aperture and focus anyway you can get a cheap set of extension tube to get to macro magnification with the very cheaply available Zuiko 50mm f1.8.

new tab ... google ... what is an extension tube . if you were me what would you buy? dont wanna go buying a crock :bonk:

so should i be looking for a om lens that has 1:1 magnification? and an extension tube so i can get closer.does a extension tube reduce the light on the sensor due to the extended length cheers for the replys

There is a 35mm zuiko digital macro at a good price in the classifieds at the moment - worth a look? (Look in "other brands".)
