WHats the Best and Worst decisions you've made, Photography wise?

Best: Taking up photography for a hobby.

Best-had 3 kids who now mean there's no money to feed the black whole so much

Worst - not choosing Nikon to start with - no matter how much I loved my Pentax K10D

Best - Joining here. If it werent for joining this place I wouldnt have been presented with the opportunities that I have. Thanks DD  [Cant let him get too much of an ego!]

Best - buying a Canon DSLR 40D
Worst - buying an L series lens and trying some friend's ones, now I want more!!!

I guess buying the Bigma, it cost over £700 notes and I never use it.

You and me both. I guess I should take up shooting birds. Or perhaps just spying on them from my bedroom window when they're getting changed :)

Birds it is. Its very easy, I managed to attract about 30 different small birds within 10ft of my patio doors. I just don't enjoy shooting birds as much as other subjects. Even if I did, I think I would prefer to get closed with my 70 to 200 F2.8.

Best- Buying a Nikon Dslr
Worst - Not ensuring my giga vue was formatted before downloading 40gb of honeymoon photos on to it......:nono::nono::bonk:
Lucky for me you can swap them back onto sd cards and upload them onto the pc that way.........:thumbs:

Best - moving over to Digital from film.

Worst - Getting lazy and not thinking about my photos before i take them - a result of moving over to digital from film.:bang:

I do have a solution though, im gonna hide all my big CF cards, and buy a 64mb one, so each shot will count. Providing i dont keep using the erase button;)

 .. I can think of a day like that too ...P mode with the auto pop up flash bouncing up intermittently ... aaarrrggg, how do I turn the flipping thing off!!!, ... sooo embarrassing. :bang:

Best: Upgrading to the D300
Worst: hhmm, starting to think my Sigma 150-500 is a bit of a white elephant. Haven't found as much use for it as I first thought.

Best? Getting back into photography after a longish break.

Worst? Taking a longish break!

Best - Asking for a DSLR for xmas 3 years ago :D
Worst - Getting up 4 mornings in a row to photo the sunruse without previously checking the weather...

Best? Getting out and meeting new people since taking up photography. I`ve made a large group of good friends, in a relatively short time. Oh and buying the 10-20, brilliant bit of kit.

Worst? Not taking enough time to learn photoshop, it might only be elements in my case, but I`m in awe of some of the shots where it`s been used at it`s best. Still, that`s something I can rectify.

Best - Deciding at the age of 39 to go take a few years out of work and go to college and study full time for a BTEC National Diploma in Photography. Im' now in my final year and will hopefully be going onto University in September to do a BA Honours Degree.

Worst - Not having the courage or enthusiasm to do it sooner.

Funny, I've been thinking of doing something similar after jacking in my comfy, well-paid IT job. So you'd recommend it huh? Can you get government help with fees, or loans if you do a BTEC?

Best: Jumping back into photography with a 40D after a break of a few years.
Worst: Right now, not having full frame!

Best - Moving to a D700 and the possibilities it opens up
Worst - Not being able to keep my E-3 as i miss the 2x Multiplyer and the size :(

Best. taking up photogrphy and joining TP
Worst. buying 4 DSLRs before getting a 1D mk III.
