School me
Ive done some reading and the general feeling is there arent many benifits and there are also a few disadvantages so I was just wondering your thoughts on this.
it entirely depends what you are shooting and why.
Maybe you should decide what sort of photography you will be doing and them buy the tool for the job.

Like all camera gear, when you have figured for yourself what you are missing with that next bit of kit, then go shopping!

You may as well asked about cars and the benefits of a 5.0L V8 engine
Yes it has some, but in some cases it isn't the right thing to have and is possibly the wrong choice & BAD because of it
Better would have been to ask something like...
"In shooting X which is the better format?"
DD
I totally understand your point but still being so new to photography im really lacking on alot of the technical side so I dont always know the complicatedness (im sure thats not a word) of the question im asking.
I feel like ive learnt alot in 3 months but obviously need to get deeper in the technical stuff.
This link gives a reasonable oversight:

Hope that helps

Thanks for the help guys im going to have a good read with a nice cold beer. And Flash its more of a case where if I know what things do then I can work out if that knowledge would help me in what shoot.![]()

Tbh, it sounds more like you have a desire to spend some £££
NAS is a terrible affliction![]()
Did some folk get out the wrong side of the bed today or something?
The poor chap just asked what the differences were. He's already said he isn't buying and just wanted to know, which is kind of fair enough.
Got to say I agree with that, these bad attitude posts seem to be getting more and more common on this forum lately and it's never a surprise who is demonstrating it.
Beyond lower noise and the fact that you don't have to use 10mm lenses with ridiculous perspective distortion to get a decent wide angle not much as far as I can see.

I believe, although havent seen myself, that the viewfinder on a full frame is much much better.
^^^I would suggest that if you lot ain't got anything constructive to say to help the guy, don't post at all
I was watching this thread as I was looking forward seeing to what people thought. If you have nothing sensible to say then why say it? As far as I can see owning a FF seems to prevent a sensible answer to a good question.
Really? I can't say I'd noticed it but since I was the first to post I'll assume it's aimed at me.
If you care to do your homework you will find that 99% of my posts are squarely aimed at helping fellow TPers or at conversing in a reasonably adult manner. So I'll be asking for that apology.
Now as for the OP.
I don't take "School me" as a reasonable request for information. Information that is readily available should you have all of two seconds to click the button that says "search" Hence my reply.
It's lazy thinking IMHO.
And plain bad manners. Ask, don't demand. My six year old would not get away with that.
