I recently treated myself to an ipad mini, great device I must say. I had the iphone 5 already, so it made sense to get that over any of the others - I can sync games and apps through game centre and sync them both through itunes.

I don't really need it, I just bought it for fun. So I'm playing some games on it, and liking the casualness as opposed to playing on the xbox 360, which I used to a lot. Don't seem to be as bothered with more involving games these days. The pad is much nicer to play on than the phone too. I found I'd only play real quick, 5 minute boredom killer games on there. But now I'm playing slightly more involving, longer, more addictive style games

Plants V zombies HD, Fieldrunners 2, Kingdom rush, Clash of clans, that type of thing. For more of a quick fix I have Subway surfers, Temple run 2, Score, where's my water etc ...

What is giving you your lite-game fix at the moment? Any suggestions? I'll try anything .... free .... and maybe take a chance on some paid one if they come highly recommended.

The Great Big War Game and bejewelled :D

Oh & Order Up to go.

GBWG has been taking up more of my time recently though, great little strategy game :D

I picked up gbwg free and same for bejewelled.

Lots of books and magazines, its my reader and the only way I can read them these days.

App wise

Y cam app for my security cams
Unity remote for my remote controls
Flipbpoard
Comic zeal and a ton of vintage comics
Red shift astronomy app
Real solitaire
Machinarium
Bike baron
True DOF info

my essentials

Garageband
Amplitube
Yamaha THR-1
KORG Kaossilator

non essentials

extreme road trip 2
super stickman golf
flick golf
flick soccer

netflix
sky sports tv (the bargain £5pm one that gets you all the sports including espn for non sky tv subscribers)

I'm a bit light on practical apps, had a tonne of photography apps and mags on the phone. Must re download some for the pad.

I have flip board too, but only just got so not given it much of a read.

I have 4OD, which is great bar all the adverts, and 3 player, Irish channel. I had the UFC app installed but turns out the fights are much more expensive to watch on a pad than laptop for no apparent reason.

Strum strum you'd love score. It's like angry birds for footy fans. Kind of, only much better. Instead of just killing random piggies you have to pass and curl the ball around defenders to score. It's free too.

have Score completed it fully so I downloaded FF Pro which is similar but I just cannot get into it.

Score has definitely been a highlight game on the iPad for me.

Ah cool. I'm stuck on a level atm, a long cross, header keeps hitting post or just going wide ... grrrr .... :D

Love those 3-star type games for a quick blast. I have another one called shark dash, which features a wee shark in a bath tub, you spring load him angry bird style towards the little rubber duckies, which he likes to eat. Simple, colourful, fun. Also gets very tough after the initial easy levels.

Plants vs Zombies is all you'll ever need.
Completed it twice when it first came out for PC, back in 2007 IIRC. Completed it 2 more times on the iPhone, and now that HD version is free, almost completed it again on the iPad.

Real Racing, I've got 2 when it came out, 3 just came out and is free, so no reason not to grab it. If your house Wi-fi signal is strong, you can even stream to your TV via AppleTV and play like a real console game.

Flipboard is essential. iPad version is soooooooo well designed.
IMDB for those film/actor arguments.
Talk-Photography app obviously.

I completed plants v zombies, just started going through again on the higher difficulty. Great game, I probably wouldn't have tried it only it was free - but turned out to be the game I play most. I've bought the odd 5.99 game and only played them once ...

I have Flipboard now, and TP, IMDB, got the WDTV remote for my western digi box, but it doesn't seem to want to work! That's annoying, the free iphone version works fine, the ipad one which I had to pay for, just brings up a blank screen. Thought it would be much better for typing searches on for youtube on the tv.

I had words with friends, but got bored of it after a while, people just come up with the oddest words, I'm sure they're using cheats of some kind. They can't all know these words I've never heard of!

Stick Cricket
Chess Free
Big Cup Cricket
Athletics
Pro Snooker
Bulls i

Think there's a pattern there! :D

Ever tried one called 8 ball pool? I gave it a quick try other night, you play online against random people - I won my first 2 games :) it's free, so worth a shot if you like a challenge.

We have good enough wi-fi here for me to run the likes of 4OD and it streams just fine, I also grabbed an app called Air video, which streams from my laptopto the pad. Handy for watching movies in bed.

Now all I need is some kind of holder for it so I can lie down proper while doing that. Seen some before somewhere that attach onto your headboard, must look that up again.

Generally not a fan of iPad gaming due to the lack of physical controls, but the 'Broken Sword' games (Smoking Mirror and Directors Cut) are perfect for the device.

'The Room' is also excellent, if way too short, and 'Chimpact' is extremely addictive.

The Sky+ app makes browsing the guide, planner and On Demand services a much niftier experience and, again, really well suited to a touch device.:)

Aha, forgot about Tunein radio, I've had that a while on the phone, have it on the pad now also. I bought a 3.5 to 3.5 jack to hook it up to my stereo, also have spotify, both are great.

Exactly what I do! All musical bases covered!

Wonderputt
Tiny Troopers
Earn to Die
Darts Night
Robbery Bob

Usually mostly use Netflix and ESPN goals is good if I've missed a game.

Going to get Machinarium too here, looks perfect for the pad.

I have tones of stuff but ones worth having are:

Plants Vs Zombies HD - Had it on my Xbox so grabbed it when I saw it was free.
Gesundheit! HD - Very charming puzzle game
Flipboard
IMDB
AV player HD - Great player with wireless transfer and has now added streaming
Army of Darkness HD - Addictive defence game
Guardian Eye Witness - Some amazing photo's
Pinnacle Studio - Not cheap but great for quick home video edits.
Transfer - Good for sending vid/photos to and from a PC/Mac. No more iTunes!
Draw something
DJay - perfect for a quick mix since my decks are in the garage and records are in storage, thanks to having little ones.

I don't have any apps on my samsung tab 2. There were a few preloaded, but of no interest to me so I deleted them. I just use my tablet to surf the net when at work or listen to a few cd's I've loaded on to it.

I'd just like to say I went and bought the great big war game and it's making me lose hair! :D

Greader Pro
MD.emu
Snes 9x ex+
New.emu
GBA.emu
Sun Surveyor
ConvertPad
UAE4Droid

Mostly use my tab for browsing and reading Greader, but Sun Surveyor is probably my most used photography app.

currently playing 8 ball pool from miniclip on my iphone... seriously addictive app!

Just got Machinarium, after hearing so much about it. Will give it a go later see what the fuss is all about.
