I have some family visiting soon from a far away and they will come bearing gifts. Now, at their request, they just need direction on the gifts. I have good lens cover from my zooms, hot shoe flash, tri pod, mono pod a bag for it all. For getting the wheels turning what are your must have items in your kit? I know mine but want some outside influence from all of you. In hopes you'll spark a thought I've not considered in terms of kit or have over looked. It's about practicality, usability and items you've come to rely on to the point you'd not be without it them when you shoot or maybe a luxury you find increasingly helpful. Lets hear your thoughts....
 
It seems like you have a fair bit of kit already so I'll throw this one in, a netbook/laptop for backing up on the road. I have a netbook and find it VERY useful when travelling.

I went for (as I couldn't decide on anything) a Nikon 70-200 VRII thermos flask & a Nikon 24-70 mug which are quite handy as we all need to drink whilst out an about :D
 
This seems like a good chance to add a large aperture prime to your zooms. 85mm f1.8 would be good on your 7D.

even I think the same go some lenses like zoon or wide-angle or even flash if needed.

Some good thoughts here and in line with my thoughts - second 580 ExII and , not 85mm but thinking, 35mm prime as this is very highly rated for IQ and in line with the ever popular 50mm for FF. Netbook is good call too and one I've been putting off as I have lots of portable memory. Thanks guys, any other ones people can think of?
 
Possible a light meter if you shoot portraits. Wireless radio trigger for off camera flash triggering. Wolverine portable storage with built-in card readers. Just a few ideas. Good luck and let us know what you get!
 
2nd flash and a decent soft box arrangement for it. The OCF facility of the 7D needs to be exploited ! The netbook is also a great idea. I have a 12" laptop that I'd lost without when away fogging for a few days.
