As a student I can't afford that much stuff, but I do have:

Canon EOS 300D
Canon 50mm f1.8
Canon 28-135 f3.5 IS
Lensbaby 2
Crappy tripod

And hopefully soon, a Speedlite 430EX followed by a 30D. :)

5D,
EF180L,
T/C's, L-SC ,Tubes, Flashes, Focus Rail, Angle Finder C, Manfrotto legs and heads

Edited down to the daily bag...misunderstood the question....ooops

If you're going to do camera porn, then please - do it with pictures. It makes life so much more exciting.

Are we just showing off how much kit we have or whats actually in your daily camera bag?

I favor simplicity. For my client shoots, I take:

Bronica ETRS medium format film camera
75mm 2.8 lens
Light meter

That's it. If I'm doing a major shoot (for a magazine or other commercial job) I'll take a 40mm 4.0 wide angle lens. The only time I take more than that is when I will be shooting large format. That requires a bit more stuff.

I favor simplicity.

Ditto. I don't need a wardrobe of kit with me just in case something happens. I know what I shoot, know what I need.

30D w/grip. Canon 24-70, Sigma 10-20. Cokin ND grad. Pen, notebook, printed portfolio, business cards, spare battery, memory cards, emergency lollypop.

Camera is never in the bag, so its a nice light manbag over my shoulder.

Nikon D40, Nikon 18 - 55mm and 55 - 200mm lenses and Sigma 10 - 20mm. And Two SD cards.

i took this the other day..

DSCF4254copy1.jpg

Nikon D80
Nikon MB-d80
Nikon 80-200 f2.8 AF-D
Nikon 70-300 f4-5.6
Nikon 18-135
Nikon 50 f1.8
Nikon SB-800
Manfrotto XB190 and 3202rc
Manfrotto mono pod
coking P series ND filters and polariser
selection of close up filters.
Hoya UV filters for all lenses
Lowepro mini trekker AW

My lunch normally.

The camera tends to be in my hands, and unless I'm working, these days I tend to take 1 lens and maybe some filters. I got fed up with aching shoulders and schlepping the whole damn kit and caboodle around with me everywhere.

Depends what you take pictures of really. Doing outdoor stuff means I need everything from wide angle to long telephoto. My typical kit is:

thinktank2.jpg

- Canon EOS 1D Mark II (x2)
- Canon EF 17-40 f/4L
- Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L
- Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS
- Canon EF 500 f/2.8L IS
- Canon 1.4x extender (x2)
- Canon 2x extender
- Remote Flash Cord
- Hyperdrive backup drive
- NP-E3 spare battery (x2)
- Remote shutter release
- HiTech ND and grads

Sometimes I swap the 17-40 for binoculars and angle finder.

Tripod, monopod or beanbag fit on the side of the bag.

Paul

Changed a bit since I took this picture;

pict0004vh2.jpg

The D40X has now been replaced with a D300, and the D40X sits where the 'Misc items' were. I wouldn't like to pack much more in there as its around 16-17Kg on a good day, which is on the limit of my 'happy' carrying weight.

My normal bag contains:

30D & grip
24-105 IS L
50mm f1.8
28-300 Tamron (lightweight way of getting over 100mm)
Sigma flash
remote shutter cord
spare cards & battery.

If I know I'm going to need specific kit, I'll take it - eg 100-300 f4 EX for motorsport, too heavy just to carry about. No point carting stuff about for the sake of it, the kit doesn't appreciate a day out, and there is more likely to damage, as well as the long term effects of a bad back.

canon 10D
canon 5D
bg-E4
canon 28-70
canon 100 mm macro
canon 50 1.4
canon 70-200 2.8
580 ex speedlite
6 x camera batteries
12 x flash batteries
remote release
filters
cleaning kit

and the bag is now full :)

when I go out shooting it is with what ever I think I will need, I am off to japan in feb all I will take is the 5D, BG-E4, 28-70 , 580ex, batteries and cleaning kit + chargers

Essential Kit: Canon 350d with 18-55 kit lens (ideal for portraits and outdoor (flower) shots), works well for me + UV filter + LowePro utility bag + spare battery

Work kit: Canon 350d + Canon 15mm fisheye + flashgun (currently being repaired) + spare camera and flash batteries

Depends on what im off to shoot, but typical load out is:

D200+Grip w/ 80-400
D50 w/ 50mm or 10-20mm

Though for bigger events I can have most my kit, including my laptop

When i'm out and about then i usualy have the following in my bag

Tokina 17mm f3.5 or the 24-105 L IS (depending which is on my 350D at the time)
Nifty 50
Hitech ND grads
rocket blower
spare batteries
spare CF cards
3 stop and 10 stop ND filters
77mm Polarizer
bubble level
mini torch
mini first aid kit
a couple of bottles of water
and some food (if i'm out for a while) :D

I generally carry all my kit in my bag seeing as I don't have all that much of it:

40D + Grip
24-105 + filter + hood
70-300 + filter + hood
nifty fifty
430EX + spare batteries
a few cokin ND's and ND grads
77mm pro-1d polariser
58mm hmc pro polariser
blower/cleaning kit
TP lens pen :)
Sigma Lens cloth
spare CF cards
card reader
Manual for camera, 430EX and a pocket sized photography field guide

Canon 10d
Canon Mk 2n
Canon 24-70 L
Canon 100-400 L
Canon 300 2.8 L
Canon 1.4 extender
Remote shutter release
Manfrotto monopod
crappy tripod

I hasten to add that I dont carry all of it around at the same time as my back would propably be broken by now, the 24-70 usually stays on the camera except for Saturdays when the 300 2.8 is used for Rugby games

In the bag,

20D
100-400L
17-40L
50 1.8
580 EX
1.4 and 2x TC
Kenko extension tubes
Nikon Binoculars
Various other bits and bobs (spare batteries etc) lol

Out of the Bag

1d Mk3, 600 F4 L IS, Gitzo GT3540LS and Wimberley,

and yes i have been known to carry ALL of that, not for too far though lol ;)

I would rather not list all the equipment in my bag, but would rather lists some of the other possibly interesting items

Waterproof trousers (for rain)
Sun hat (bandanna)
Woolly hat (for cold)
Sun cream (for sun)
Blister plasters
General plasters
Ear plugs (for gigs/motor racing and noisy hotels)

Pencil/paper business cards
Cash (£10 note and small change)
Press access passes - (I find I can use old ones to blagg new access)
Florescent jacket (what do you mean you did not see me?)
Malt loaf (keeps in bag for ever)
Small bottle of water
3 x kitchen roll in sealed plastic bags (call of nature+ getting water off of lenses)
Small camping towel (like a shammy - keeping kit dry)
Small umbrella
Waterproof covers for cameras
USB leads
CF reader
Spare batteries for cameras and flash guns
Spare CF cards

You missed one very important item:

Bag of pixels (assorted colours).

Kodak instamatic.

If I'd known you had one of those I would have sent you the flash cubes instead of chucking them out!!

You really don't want to know whats in my bag, but if I have a camera bag with me I just take the camera and the lens I want to learn about, I'm still experimenting with it so I'd rather concentrate on one lens at a time and take pics of whatever is within range even if it means I get odd results!

Canon EOS50E
Canon EOS350D
28-80 lens
18-55 lens
70-200 L lens
Various flashes, filters, and associated gubbins.
Slik tripod. Old but sturdy, model not known.
Small pack of dry dog food.
Can of beer
Tube of Pringles
Spare batteries
Spare film
Oily rag
Swiss Army knife
Phone
Scorpion poison sucker
Film leader retriever
Spare spectacles
Roll of fabric Elastoplast

If it's warm it's all in the bag, if cold some of it is in various pockets to spread the weight.

I'd like to be in a position to travel light. Too many of my jobs are arranged around different people and events so I can't take the risk of being the reason the job didn't get done.

Hence all the kit is duplicated and there is always too much stuff.

Which is exactly why my personal kit bag is now a small sunglasses pouch with my panasonic lumix thingy in. :D

Now have a new bag (Lowepro Rolling CompuTrekker AW Plus) for storage and travelling so thought I'd share a few pics (day bag is a Lowepro Slingshot 100AW):-

All additonal gear Laptop/ipod/psp/papers stored in outer sections

Normally weighing a lot in rucksack is a:

Nikon D200
Nikon 18-70mm lens+polariser
Nikon 70-300mm VR
Nikon 50mm
Fuji F31 FD
Ebay cheap remote control :D
Lens cloth
Lenspen

If I'm out specifically to take pictures, then I'll also have my Manfrotto 055 ProB tripod, or my friends smaller and lighter 190 ProB. :D I may also borrow her Sigma 10-20mm lens as well. Oh, and my Cokin ND and graduated ND filters.

I haven't got one of those trendy camera bags, only a rucksack so no pictures of all my stuff in the bag. ;)

Here's mine:

DSCF0681copy.jpg

In the large zipped pouch, I have a box with several Cokin filters, an Epson P-2000 photo viewer, power lead to my battery charger, a surge protector, a Giottos rocket blower, a SL700 Artic Butterfly, 10 x Visible Dust 1.6 x orange swabs, a Cokin filter holder plus adaptor ring and then of course my Manfrotto 190 x pro b tripod with 322RC2 head mounts externally in it's dedicated pouch...
