hey TP i thought i would do something different for a change. i have seen vids on youtube about what gear they have and i wondered if we at TP can write, post photos and even videos (or links) of our camera gear, and what you use it for, eg. im a wedding photographer ( not the best example:D) and i use a 50D etc.

remember this is merely a bit of fun so no sniping.

also if this is in the wrong section then please move it appropriately.

i will upload my equipment when i borrow my moms camera.

I shoot pretty much anything that moves and several things that dont :D
do alot of street and i tend to use a Nikon d200 with 24-70mm 2.8 sigma lens and also a d60 with a 70-200 2.8 sigma tele

Will have to upload a photo when i can find another camera to take a pic of my cameras!

Cant you put your camera on self timer... and quickly run round and get the camera in shot while your waiting for the timer to go off? thus getting you a picture of said camera??:bonk::lol:

That may not work. You just need to get a friend to take the pic while you hold the camera.

Graham

I shoot people.

I also take pictures of them, from candid to posed, some for fun, some for PR stuff for work. I have a gripped Nikon D40 with 18-55 and 55-200. I have a Sekonic L308s meter for in studio and occasionally on location, a hairy great old flashgun that's totally manual, ebay triggers for that and a Prolinca IR trigger for studio heads. Sometimes I fancy taking pictures of landscapes, so I also have some Colin filter bits, but not much.

After lugging around a lowepro slingshot with 30D + 4 lenses for a while....I'm just about to head to the tube for a wander round London, this time I will just be carrying :

Olympus E-P1 with 14-42
Nikon EM with 50mm f1.8 and loaded with Ilford HP5+

My new street togging combo :)

Spare batteries for both cameras.

3 flashguns ( 1x ex580 2x vivitars)
2 pocketwizards
1x ST-E2
Lightsphere
Quantum battery pack for Ex580
Video light + 2 batteries
Spare 12 AA's

2 lighting stands and a softbox for the EX580 gets put in the car in case I need them at night.

Tripod/monopod
Reflectors

All packs into two bags, one rolling case for all the camera gear and one lowepro for all the lighting gear.

Oddly, I have used all but one lens at a wedding before but on yesterdays I only used one camera and two lenses. It all depends on location and lighting as to how much of that lot I actually need to use.

If I'm out doing my own thing I take a backpack with one camera and a couple of lenses and some filters.

That's just what you need to post about weddings these days mate! :)

Love the Sig, the browning just jams too much. I bet I could still strip and reassemble a Browning, I used to have to be able to do it in the dark and we got tested on that by having to wear a blacked out gas mask. Either that or the firearms instructors were just a little odd. :)

Funny I never had a problem with the venerable GP35...in fact I prefer it over the Sig as it's far better made and solid-feeling; as long as you get one that hasn't been too abused (the good thing about headquarters weapons is they're almost pristine due to never being used).
My last issued Browning was 2 years younger than me but had never been fired...stiff as anything to start with!

We've had lots of problems with Sigs cracking along the top-slide, forward of the ejection port on the left...

Interesting - I like to strip & shoot in the dark too

But that's another story :naughty::naughty::naughty:

I never had problems with brownings - my personal weapon for about 20 yrs. Although I did like the ppk I had for a couple years :)

Ours used to get a hammering. Loaded and unloaded three times a day and fired every week. They were not personal weapons but team weapons and on a range I could virtually guarantee at least one jam/100 shots.

You just got used to clearing them rather quickly. :)

Dave is obviously a lights off kind of chap :)

I once had a 'hookey' Walther P-38 that my Granddad 'proffed' during WW2 and that was the best pistol I ever had til it was nicked while in Africa...
The magazine-release under the grip wasn't ideally placed, but it fitted my hands perfectly and was a pleasure to shoot with...

Preferred the 226 - carried one for several years, nice to handle and comfortable to use. Put plenty of rounds throught it and never a single problem.

Now the only thing I shoot with is a Nikon!!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/joensf/cameras***.jpg

1. Nikon D200 body
2. Cosina CT1G w/ 50mm f.2 lens
3. Ensign Selfix Bellows camera (got it off my grandad, works perfectly, pin sharp. takes 120 film)
4. Polaroid camera (everyone loves polaroids)
5. Brownie 620 Model D (for the bleached out, light leaking arty farty look)
6. Super Eight cine camera
7. Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye, Nikon 50mm 1.8, Nikon 70-200, Nikon 18-55.
8. 2 x Vivitar 285s, 2 x Sunpak g4500 hammerheads (amazing flashes, still hold theyre own against the newer models and if a rider gets a bit loose and knocks one over theyre cheap to replace. i always set them manually anyway so the bells and whistles off newer models are pointless)
9. Pocket Wizards
10. Minolta light meter (this will probably last me until i die)
11. Assorted sync cables, shutter release cords, gels for flashes, brakcets etc
12. Tripods/ flash stands
13. Home made soft boxes, snoots etc

Birds:

Canon 40D / Canon 400mm f5.6 L

Landscapes:

Mamiya c330 / 80mm f2.8
Canon AE-1 / 50mm f1.8

And that is all I need.

Is that a glass body cap or do you often expose the body like this

Nice kit pic though.
