Cheers... but to be honest I am none the wiser... need to know if I can get smooth fm in lancashire using a digital radio and is dab the way to go...

thnaks for the link though mate.. but all went above my head to be honest :)

you might also be able to get it on your freeview/sky box.

DAB is good for 2 things, planetrock and 6music and the retarded BBC are hell bent on killing off the latter!

Hi, i can't comment on what stations will have good reception in Lancashire but we have three digital radios and they are all manufactured by Pure. Friends have tried other makes but these ones seem to be the best. Main house model is an Evoke 2 and we have a great one which is rechargeable and goes into the garden; that model is an Oasis.

Brilliant reception here in the deepest Fens!

Hope this helps.

Digital, DAB or TV is not about better quality, it's about more, more stations in less bandwidth, more advertising revenue and more choice. Though the more choice bit is debatable in tv terms, with radio the wide range of genres make it more successful.

I live in line of sight of our main tv/radio transmitter and have no difficulty getting good reception on a cheap portable DAB radio or on a half decent hifi.

I have a Pure DAB radio in the kitchen. Excellant sound, good reception, much better quality than FM, different radio stations as well as some of the normal ones.

I have a dab unit in the car that feeds into the main head unit which gives me excellent reception anywhere I go. With a mainly fibreglass car and no external aerial it was awkward getting a good fm reception.

Yes you can!! If you can handle a bit of tinny sound, I got one of these for Christmas - it streams internet radio, and your own media too, as well as DAB and normal radio, and it's about 1/2 the price of the Pure Logic etc

The one I suggested is half the price......;)

Am listening to smooth fm over the internet and its goooood thanks.. on the PC that is... 20 yrs on Computers and never used it for radio before :) in fact to be honest 99% of the time the speakers are off and sound is mute .. so its a bit of a treat for the PC :)
