Totally fed up of CD's and just realised the car can use a memory stick :$ So what sites do you use, anything to watch out for, etc etc? :)

Last.fm usually have sample tracks for download for free legitimately.

ta, there's loads of stuff on there, haven't heard of most of it though :p

I use HMV, Play and Amazon

I use Napster mostly but Play and HMV have also been fine when I've used them before.

+1 for 7digital. or iTunes, of course.

iTunes all the way. Used them for years, Never had an issue, never wanted to go anywhere else (although I have bought from amazon MP3 when they had a sale on)

Only issue would be DRM. Music protected via itunes, so might not play on a memory stick; only an ipod.

buy the DRM free ones from iTunes.

or, buy the DRM ones, burn them as audio to CD then rip them back to MP3 :P

I dont download much tbh, usually just listen to spotify when on 'puter and radio in car, but when I do want to buy a track/album, I use Tesco Digital. They seem price comparable to others and I get cc points, though not researched the competitiveness on price with any degree of thoroughness tbh.

Apparently Spotify offers the ability to download music for something like 89p. Can anyone verify this and if so is it Digitally Protected?

Sorry, i wasn't aware that 7Digital and Spotify were the same thing or related.

Don't really pay much attention to other methods of music downloads as i use iTunes.

TunesPro offering downloads for 12p Legally.

It's an offer for the next 3 months, after that it goes up to about 47p i think.

they are actually losing money at the moment, as they have to pay a certain amount to the record label

I use Amazon, theres usually a few chart track for 29p:thumbs:

spotify for general listening is hard to beat

www.mp3search.ru

The website address might look dodgy but it's a good website and legit. Prices are in US$ as well which makes the tracks even cheaper :)

legit? No way. At 9 cents a time I can't imagine anything going to artists/writers etc.

itunes here. Never seen the need to look elsewhere.

That Russian site sounds like another reincarnation of allofmp3.com, which got shut down for being illegal.

Another happy iTunes customer here.

The site has been up for as far a I can remember and I've been using it for the last 12 months.

No issues

Big fan of last-FM radio here too Dod. I use the make your own radio station tool for finding new music that I like. Simply stick in a few of your favourites and the station will choose others in the same genre. Its fab, mad mixes of artists can often bring up something new and amazing.
