remember them... I saw them in November ;-)

I didn't know they were still on tour. last time I saw them was in the 80s, a great gig at Wembley Arena - happy days.

Where did you see them & was it a good gig?

Cranberries................:thumbs:

Holmfirth 19-11, and to be honest, it's not really so much BJH any more - It's John Lees and some other geezers, since Mel died in 2004 and Wooly died in 2010. Les Holroyd's also touring with another band, doing the more recent stuff, whereas Lees seems to do the older stuff and a few recent tracks written since splitting with Les...

Set list from Holmfirth was

Medicine Man;
Ball And Chain;
Hymn For The Children;
Poor Wages;
Ancient Waves;
She Said;
Mockingbird;
Taking Some Time On;
One Night;
Poor Man's Moody Blues;
If Love Is King;
Song For Dying;
The Poet/After The Day;
Death Of A City;
Hymn

As to if it was a good gig... well, to be fair, after they opened with Medicine Man, I'd have forgiven them anything :lol:

Thanks for that BY. I don't know much about BJH, but Live Tapes has been one of my favourite live albums for so many years. I'd like to see them if only for Mocking Bird.

In my experience it's often disappointing to see the splinter groups - when Fish left Marillion, both went on tour and neither were up to much on stage, but Marillion with Fish as the front man were a truly superb band. Hearts of Lothian, live was stunning.

More recently, Supertramp without Roger Hodgson were ok,ish, but Roger Hodgson put on a brilliant show.

Thank goodness for live music, but I'm running out of 80s rock bands to see!

Chris

Now playing Blues For Greeny, Gary Moore - a sad loss to the British Blues scene.

Also managed to get to...

Alice Cooper (ok technically '70's :shrug:) - Sheffield Oval Hall - 25th October 2011
Uriah Heep - Holmfirth Picturedrome - 2nd December 2011

and tickets pending for

Steve Hackett Band - Holmfirth Picturedrome - 18th February 2012

so there's still a few of 'em out there

Steve Hackett, that was my first proper gig, late 70s, his first tour, soon after leaving Genesis, as far as I know. Possibly not his best career move!

After seeing Steve hackett I was hooked on live music, can't beat that feeling of hairs on the back of the neck standing on end when an favourite track is played, it reminds me that I'm still alive!

just bounced off some Nightwish (hmmm) and Silent Lucidity - Queensryche (yay) onto a Best of Elton John (!).
feeling mellow and the stellas are flowing, so enjoying

Awolnation sail. After someone sent me a link to a jeb corliss video and he was using this tube for it looked up their website, some great songs on there.

My OH Frigging moaning at me again :(

The sound of one of the kids playing Cars 2 on his Wii, after having heard him tell me how much he enjoyed me helping him learn to ride his new bike... There's no feeling quite like that in the world... :thumbs:
