What you listening to RIGHT now?

Not now, but yesterday evening....

UB40 feat. Ali Campbell at Kew The Music - reggae not my genre but a few banging numbers on there, Warm up act was Gentleman's Dub Club, I quite enjoyed them even though never heard of them before...

Night before...

Warm up act BLANCMANGE, followed by The Human League. That was the better of the 2 evenings. Nice warm summer sunshine too,

The Ultimate, Matt Monro.

Underworld : Juanita

Saw them again 2 weeks ago for umpteenth time, probably one of their best performances.

Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page watch "Stairway to Heaven" played by 'Heart" .On drums is John Bonham's son, Jason. John Bonham died in 1980 at the age of 32. Jason has played with Led Zeppelin on numerous occasions and leads his own Led Zeppelin Tribute band.

He did indeed. IIRC, a couple of guitarists played the other half of the duel - one for the rocky bit and another for the classical.

Didn’t he play guitar for the devil in the film Crossroads.? Got a couple of 3G albums.
Mr Nod's answered..thanks. . I just recall a guitarist telling me, a long time ago, to listen to Steve Vai's music as I really like heavy metal even though I'm not 21 ..well retired now but still love to hear it. I don't know why I think only young people like heavy metal. There's another one, too. Gary Moore ,from NI, who used to play with Thin Lizzy. He's pretty amazing, too.I used to own a 1958 replica Strat. Fiesta Red/Flamingo pink.I had the Vox AC30 to go with it,too and still have the Roland Chorus Echo RE-301 in mint coindition.

Contrary to popular belief Jimmy Page did not play on Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man. I think it was actually Alan Parsons. Although, John Bonham did play drums, I believe.

i think you mean Alan Parker

i suppose it depends on which part of Wikipedia you read to determine who really did play the instruments on that track or if you believe Jimmy Page's biography on his own website were it states he did play guitar on 2 of Donovan tracks one being Hurdy Gurdy Man the other sunshine superman
i'm a bit biased towards Jimmy Page as i'm a bit of a led zeppelin fan and i find a lot more chatter about Jimmy page playing guitar than i do Alan Parker

i don't mind being wrong though :)

I probably did mean Alan Parker. Well, then it's a bit of a mystery. My understanding is that Page has repeatedly denied it. So I don't know what to believe. Personally, I think it's always a good story, so they didn't bother to refute it. And no guitarists were harmed in the making of this track. :D

Wife is beginning like JB a bit more, must play more albums and maybe a dvd or two.

Styx , "Return to Paradise". Appreciate them much more thsn I did in the 70's. Lots of younger man memories.
As Cher sings," If I could turn back time".

P.S. first time I've really looked into thread, may not see the good lady for a few months due to some of the titles contained here.

i haven't thought about Styx for years which is a bit sad because i used to be really into them a long time ago
it got me thinking if i actually have any of their music i know i used to but that was on vinyl and i did away with vinyl years ago

sooo..
i did a search through my CD collection which is pretty healthy and i couldn't find a single track by Styx
now you have reminded me how much i liked the band i'm going to have to rectify my problem

cheers :)

My humble opinion, they never REALLY got the recognition they deserved. Like every long lasting band they wrote some terrible songs, nut their live concerts are very watchable.
Enjoy a wander round charity shops to rectify your lack of Styx music.

Carly Simon, Reflections :)
