Is the L lens the F4?
 
40D's with that little use probably go for about £500 i'd guess.

70-200, if it's the f/4L (bottom model/cheapest), it'd still go for around £280-£320 ish looking at some ebay prices.

50mm mk1, £80 ish maybe?

I dunno, that's just my guess on the pricing judging off ebay prices/past prices on here.
 
If it is a 2.8 version of the lens, then it's not a bad deal....if it's a 2.8 IS version then bite his hand off :) Otherwise it seems a bit steep!
 
its the 40D -500sclicks, 70-200f4LUSM NON IS and 50mm, 77mm filter and lopro bag for it all. he is looking 1375 euro delivered which i guess is 1110.00quid
 
If you check out the Warehouse Express web site you can get a 40D and 50mm lens for less than £600. The 70-200 is is a few quid over £400. So you could buy the whole thing new for the same price.

I don't think it's a good deal. It's always a good idea to check out current prices before buying second hand. Many people look at what they paid for the equipment not what it is now worth
 
yea i know what you mean, currently i use my dads 400D and kit lens, been looking for ages for the right kit that i want to get and this fits the bill, didnt think about the price new. 70-220 would be great for the remote control car togging, 40D's6fps too. just need a sigma 10-20
 
Depending on where you bought from, and how much you shopped around, for just over £1000 you'd get all that kit new.

40D - £590 with £60 cashback (from the UK)
50mm f/1.8 - £60
70-200mm f/4 L - £390
Sigma 10-20mm - £250

Total = £1290.00 - £60 cashback = £1230.00

That's all brand new, at rough price guesses. If you shopped around, you'd probably find better deals, then theres always the option of second hand. Maybe buy the camera brand new, and the lenses second hand.

Either way, £1110.0 isn't a brilliant price fella.
 
I'd agree with that. New camera plus good secondhand lenses is probably the way to go. With the 50D being announced you may find the 40D prices getting even lower.

You can get the above plus a 580exII flash for around that money or a bit less brand new from Kerso.
 
sent Kerso a pm, i tolf the guy that his prices was a bit steep and that i can get all that kit brand new for that money so he has now sold it for 1400quid to someone else lol

I saw that thread on PI and couldn't believe he sold it all for 1400...was that Euro :eek:
