Anyone had any success with using their X-T2 at an airshow? I'm going to try using this with the 100-400 and looking for any tips on successful autofocus settings.
My post was just tongue and cheek. In all reality I have managed to get decent photos with a 2007 12mp Canon Xsi with a rudimentary AF system and a 55-250mm (35mm equivalent to approx 80-400mm) Unless they are coming at you head on or moving away you will have no problems. The majority of the time you are panning at a distance so focussing and tracking is easier. Which airshow are you attending? The hardest aircraft I find to photograph are WW2 fighters as you have to track, pan and try a few different shutter speeds to get good propellor blur.
I'm off to Cosford this weekend, I've had good results in the past with my Nikon kit but I'm slowly moving across to Fuji. It's a lovely light weight setup in comparison but still don't trust the AF as much as my Nikon.
Loads of Fuji AF options like Spot vs Zone vs Wide and different custom AF settings, consensus online seems to be 9 point Zone and Custom 2 which I'll use for starters.
(But I might just take a big bag with both this year and try them back to back )
Should be a decent show - The USAF have confirmed that there will be flypasts from a B52 and a B-1B Lancer!! Would be interested in your results as I have recently picked up an XT2 having previously used a D7200 at air shows.
