Strange as it sounds, I wouldn't want a subscription to any of the publications my work ends up in.

I hate reading about football or sport in general, as often I've seen it with my own eyes and don't need the spin from the journo's. Over time I find myself looking through the sport section solely for pictures.

That's just me though I suspect, a subscription to a magazine could be seen as a good perk for some.

There are of course other kinds of payment, cold hard cash isn't the only legal tender.

I don't think my wife would be happy with me receiving that sort of payment.

I know what you mean James, i hate football with a passion and have even turned down agency work covering games from the Championship because of it, the game is full of cheats.

Love watching it or photographing it, in fact any sport...but just can't stand reading about it as there's a distinct lack of unbiased journalists these days. I want to read an objective report and not the individuals slant on it.

Case in point, last week I was at Swansea v Villa, I support neither side but every national newspaper went with "Aston villa bossed the game and Swansea were lucky"...which is completely at odds with what I experienced. I did one half of each teams attack and Swansea were by far the better team, villa basically bullied them off the park. However, could you find a match report that reflects this? Could you hell...

CANT TELL YOU what I am photographing later on tonight until tommorow or i will get in trouble... its not sport and i aint alltogether happy about it... but might be fun
