I have recently upgraded my film camera from a Canon EOS 300v to a 'gripped' Canon EOS 5, as my profile shows I am currently undertaking a National Diploma in photography and use black and white 35mm film as my main format.

However I could not resist buying a 'gripped' Canon EOS 3 as one became available. I don't need both the 5 and the 3 but I can't decide which one to part with therefore I am asking you guys to throw in your suggestions...

How many lens do you have?

You could use both bodies, one with a wide angle lens or zoom, the other with mid telephoto or long zoom.

No lens swapping at that crucial moment.

I have an eos 3 and 100. I use the 100 in situations where it might be dodgy to use my more expensive eos 3

I'd keep the EOS3. It might be useful to have two bodies for your course though. Won't you be shooting colour as well?

Good Luck with it

They share lenses, use the eos-3, keep the eos-5 loaded with alternate film, swap as needed, job's a carrot!

Keep both of them, I learnt years ago that if there was something really important going on, you either had the wrong lens or the wrong film in, this was in the days when zoom lenses werent that common though

I have decided that for now I will keep both camera's, I agree woth comments about having different film in, this makes sense.

For colour I would not use the film as we only have b&w technology and I prefer not to use photo labs such as Jessops, boots or tesco's etc.

Thanks for the replies.

I've had a lot of fun running two cameras one with fp4 and one hp5, looking at getting a spare MF back with delta 3200 for really fast stuff
