Just a nice and relaxed one at home it was for me.
First year my daughters didn't wake up early. Also have our our niece staying with us for a while from Italy. Our youngest still believes but was still fast asleep by 0900. I guess the last night mass was good for something on Christmas Eve.
After unwrapping the stockings with a million, or so it seemed, little presents we had a little break. Tiger seemed to have done well by my wife
I got dressed and teamed up with a neighbour to wear out our dogs for Chrismast day. So Nero and his Tom boy girlfriend Ruby (a Giant Schnauzer) has a nice 6 mile walk around Whipsnade perimeter getting all muddy and lovely. Followed by a packet of porkscratchings at the Hunters Lodge and a well deserved pint or two for us
I couldn't believe how many people in their finest clothes coming for Christmas lunch cuddled and stroked those two.
Anyway a stroll down home, a shower outside. For the dogs. And round two with the presents.
My inlaws arrived by then and the turkey dinner with all trimmings were well underway.
Had a lovely lovely meal. Then in the evening finished off the remainder of the presents. And then had to walk the dog again. Brrrr it was cold. But nicely woke me up following the beer and wine and port.
Inlaws didn't stay this time and left later. Us five ended up watching a movie "School of Rock".
Pretty nice and relaxing day. And we are doing it all over again today. Except no more presents and no turkey.
