What was your first digital camera with changeable lenses?

Canon 350D still have it and last time I checked it still worked
I remember buying from Curry’s , the salesman tried to convince me to get the 300D instead for some reason but I definitely wanted the 350D

With changeable lens... a Canon 350D, which replaced an aging Fujifilm 6900Z 'bridge' camera with an EVF, which are now a thing again, so yay, I really loved that feature! Now to ponder an R5.

Canon 300d, first DSLR under a grand. By modern standards a terrible camera, but I took some acceptable images with mine.

Likewise - in the early/mid 90s I was working at an Apple retailer with a specialist digital imaging unit and had got hands-on experience the Apple QuickTake (which was simultaneously amazing and underwhelming) and the early digital SLRs from Kodak and Nikon (which were amazing and stupidly expensive for my pocket).

I had mentally set a threshold that I would buy a digital camera when it was

- at least 2 megapixels (how things change)
- SLR format with Interchangeable lenses
- under £1000

The 300D was the first to market to tick all the boxes and I bought one right at the end of 2003. For its time it was revolutionary in making a proper digital cancer that was affordable, offering a standard of performance that cost over ten times as much less than a earlier.

Nikon D700 and really did not like it, I bought it again several years later, way way cheaper and then released why I got rid of it first time round.

Pentax *istD in 2005 (followed by *ist DL, K10D, K20D, K-5, K-3 and finally K-1)

In the Nikon sphere - D3 (in 2010), replaced by D810 and ultimately D850. D7100 and D500...

My first digital was a Canon G5. Great little camera, but ended up being used sparingly.

For me it was a toss up between the Canon 300D, a just released 350D, or a Nikon D70, and although the 350D was better in some ways, the body was just too small, with my knuckles rubbing against the lens when I held it, so the D70 won. It just felt nice in the hand. :)

I was working in a department store at the time, and was lucky to be able to have a play with them all before choosing. ;) From then on I always advised people to hold (if possible) any cameras they may be interested in, as you can only tell so much from pictures and dimensions.

Dos 40D and sigma 80-400

Canon 350D to replace a G5 I was sick of the shutter lag.
Still got them both but they dont get used these days

Canon 350D was my first digital camera with interchangable lenses. I almost bought a 300D, but the magazines suggested the 350D was just around the corner, and in those days there was rapid improvement in quality and features.

Nikon D300 with a battery grip.

I shot my first digital wedding with the 300D
It got the job done ;)
I booked mine with the 300d but by the time of the wedding it was my 2nd body, to the 20d. But for years my portfolio included some of those 300d images.

Nikon D70..... Bought another one a couple of years ago... :D

Nikon D300

Sony A77.

An Olympus E-500 dual lens kit with the 17.5-45mm and 40-150mm lenses. I bought it because it looked a good deal on hotukdeals and I didn't understand the DSLR market, it was an extremely costly mistake but sometimes that's how you learn.

Another Canon 350D. It is still going strong, repurposed for infrared about 8 years' ago and last used for the horror/ghosts October challenge

Pentax Spotmatic F. I only ever used slide film, it taught me a lot about getting the right exposure. Then moved on to a Canon A1, loved that camera!

Spot the deliberate mistake?
I missed the word "Digital"!
First digital was a Canon 10D.

My first was a Canon 10D with a Canon 28-135 IS lens. I took this photo, the day I got it - 2nd April 2004.

2006 Canon 350D, cracking camera. Now used by my grand daughter
